Myntra plans to onboard ~400 West Bengal-based sellers, powering their growth journey and providing national scale ahead of the festive season

Hosted the second Kolkata edition of 'Seller Growth Connect' to onboard regional entrepreneurs and enhance reach through digital commerce of traditional craft clusters including Fulia, Shantipur, and Bishnupur

Kolkata, July 27, 2026: Myntra, one of India’s leading fashion, beauty and lifestyle destinations, hosted the second edition of a seller-focused event in Kolkata, ‘Seller Growth Connect’, as well as a dedicated onboarding session. Ahead of the festive season, the initiative aims to bring 400 existing and emerging sellers, regional manufacturers, and brand owners to the platform. Designed to deepen digital inclusion, the event brought together sellers across fashion, lifestyle, apparel, handloom, and accessories from the city and across Eastern India. Building on the momentum of its inaugural edition in May, the programme equips regional MSMEs with technology tools, market insights, and supply chain readiness required to fulfill nationwide demand, ahead of the upcoming festive season.

The initiative aligns with Myntra’s commitment to supporting emerging businesses in the region to expand their reach, scale nationally, and grow through a simplified, tech-enabled process on the platform.

As one of India’s most vibrant manufacturing and textile hubs, Kolkata and Eastern India play an important role in the country’s fashion ecosystem. Myntra has been witnessing significant participation by the brands from the region, particularly West Bengal, with 1700 brands across apparel, personal care and accessories categories catering to the growing demand from discerning customers across the country. Crucially, the platform is accelerating digital market access for iconic heritage textile clusters, including Fulia, Shantipur, Dhaniakhali, and Bishnupur—bringing traditional craft forms like Taant sarees, Bishnupuri silk, and Dhakai Jamdani onto the national digital commerce map. Brands like  Kisah, Vastrmay, Uptownie, FTX, Dolce Crudo, Miss Chase, Wishcare, including those supporting the handloom industry, like Bengal Looms India, Bengal Saree Udyog, Adi Akshoy & Co, Vagmi, Gouri Collections, are leveraging Myntra’s ecosystem to transition from regional players into nationally recognised brands.

Growth playbook for emerging brands

Myntra’s structured and unique tech-led growth playbook is designed to support the various growth stages of emerging brands on the platform. The framework offers actionable insights on assortment planning, emerging trend forecasting, catalog optimisation, and marketing solutions. The playbook guides entrepreneurs with specific brand-based insights and meaningful business frameworks, enabling emerging brands to navigate their digital commerce journey with data-backed precision.

Platform’s cutting-edge tech capabilities for better ease of doing business

Demonstrating its commitment to friction-free seller onboarding and digital capability building, Myntra has reduced seller onboarding time from 10-15 days to approximately 1-2 days through its AI-powered Seller Growth Hub. This technology infrastructure allows emerging brands across the spectrum to register, list catalogs, and gain immediate access to national consumer demand.

Speaking on the initiative, Bedanta Dutta, Senior Director, Marketplace, Myntra, said, “Eastern India, West Bengal included,  has a deeply rooted and diverse ecosystem of entrepreneurial businesses, manufacturers, artisans and brands across handloom, ethnic wear, apparel and lifestyle categories. The growth of our seller base in the region reflects the growing ambition among these businesses to take their products beyond their traditional markets and build brands with national relevance. Through ‘Seller Growth Connect’, we are working closely with the seller community and equipping entrepreneurs with the marketplace insights, technology and growth frameworks required to scale and expand their reach on the platform.”

With demand for fashion and lifestyle products increasingly coming from customers across markets, Myntra continues to invest in empowering regional sellers to strengthen their digital capabilities and build nationally accessible brands. Through initiatives like Seller Growth Connect, Myntra continues to deepen its engagement with regional sellers, enabling their brands to tap into Myntra’s nationwide 75 mn+ monthly active users on the platform across India.
