Noida, 12th May 2026: In a landmark moment for the sporting landscape of the city, the first-ever Noida District Olympic Games was successfully conducted from 1st May to 7th May at Ramagya Sports Academy (RSA) in association with the District Olympic Association Gautam Buddh Nagar, affiliated with the Uttar Pradesh Olympic Association, the multi-sport event was held in association with Ramagya Sports Academy.
The tournament marked a proud and historic milestone not only for RSA, but for Noida as a whole, as the city witnessed an Olympic-format district sporting event of this scale for the very first time.
The event brought together 2000+ athletes from schools and clubs across the district. It featured more than 10 sports including Athletics, Basketball, Boxing, Badminton, Football, Hockey, Volleyball, Shooting, Karate, Gymnastics, Kickboxing, Taekwondo, Table Tennis and more. Ramagya Sports Academy had the privilege of hosting the Basketball and Boxing events, providing athletes with professional infrastructure, competitive exposure, and a competitive sporting environment throughout the week.
The District Olympic Games were organised with the objective of promoting a stronger sports culture among the youth while encouraging discipline, confidence, physical fitness, and sportsmanship. The platform also played a crucial role in identifying and nurturing talent from both rural and urban regions, helping athletes progress towards higher levels of competition.
One of the most significant aspects of the tournament is its structured selection pathway. Winning athletes at the district level became eligible to compete in the State Olympic Games, from where selections are further made for national-level competitions. The event witnessed participation across junior and senior categories, giving young players valuable exposure beyond their regular school and academy competitions.
For Ramagya Sports Academy, this initiative reflects a larger vision. Over the years, RSA has trained athletes who have represented India at national and international platforms. And now Ramagya Sports Academy has taken a significant step towards preparing young athletes towards the Olympic pathway.
Adding to the pride of the institution, students from Ramagya Sports Academy delivered an impressive performance at the tournament, securing 9 Gold Medals and 2 Silver Medals across disciplines. Their achievements reflected not only talent, but also the dedication, discipline, and consistent training that the academy strives to instill in every athlete.
Among our medal winners were Nidhisha, Nysa, Ritisha, Ashika, Vadhna, Soumya, Mariyam, Serena, Parth, Prince and Toshif.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Utkarsh Gupta, Managing Director, Ramagya Group, said:
“This is more than just a tournament for us. It is the beginning of a larger vision. Through platforms like the Noida District Olympic Games, we want to prepare young athletes not just for school competitions, but for national, international, and eventually Olympic-level opportunities. Seeing the participation, energy, and commitment from students this week has been truly inspiring. This is only the start, and the journey ahead is full of possibilities.”
The event was also graced by distinguished guests including Pramod Kumar, General Secretary, Boxing Federation of India, and Surendra Singh Nagar, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and President, District Olympic Association, Gautam Buddh Nagar.
