Noida, April 26, 2025: Noida International University (NIU) organized a vibrant two-day event commemorating Zimbabwe National Day and Nepal National Day to promote intercultural engagement and global student integration. The event concluded with enthusiastic participation and diplomatic presence, strengthening ties between India, Zimbabwe, and Nepal through cultural celebration and academic collaboration.
During the Zimbabwe Day ceremony, the celebrations were graced by distinguished dignitaries, including H.E. Ms. Stella Nkomo, Ambassador of the Republic of Zimbabwe, and Mrs. Sophia Coimbatore, Tourism Attaché of the Republic of Zimbabwe. Mr. Gokul Basnet, Counsellor (Cultural) at the Embassy of Nepal, was present alongside university leadership for the Nepal Day program.
Prof. (Dr.) Uma Bhardwaj, Vice Chancellor of NIU, said, “The vision of global citizenship through cultural awareness and educational inclusivity is the step towards building lasting relationships through education, mutual respect, and shared values.” The two-day festival showcased traditional performances, exhibitions, and informative sessions highlighting Zimbabwe and Nepal’s rich heritage, historical significance, and national achievements. Students from over 35 nationalities studying at NIU participated enthusiastically, reflecting the university’s diverse and inclusive academic environment.

Intercultural dialogue is a key element in sustainable development and peacebuilding. This alignment with a global perspective continues to champion multicultural events to inspire students, foster international understanding, and help students learn about intercultural activities and maintain an understanding of different cultures and traditions.
The success of the event marked yet another milestone for NIU’s journey to becoming a global hub for higher education, diplomacy, and cultural exchange.
