National, 30th June 2023: In today’s rapidly evolving society, creating a workplace that values diversity, inclusion, and respect has become an essential aspect of any organization’s success. With a growing emphasis on equality and the recognition of individual differences, fostering an environment where employees feel safe, valued, and respected is crucial. In light of this, India’s leading integrated human resource solutions organization, Genius Consultants Ltd. conducted a survey to evaluate an open-ended culture that values and encourages the diversity of ideas and people within its workforce. 

59% of the employees think that their organization have an open-ended culture where you can celebrate the diversity of ideas and people that can foster an inclusive and collaborative environment where individuals are free to express their thoughts, perspectives, and opinions without fear of judgment or reprisal. On the contrary, 33% of the partakers are of the opinion that their organization doesn’t have an open-ended culture. 

According to this Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Survey report, 45% of employees coming from various organizations believe that their top management is committed to supporting the needs of their colleagues with disabilities towards creating an inclusive and supportive work environment. This implies that a high percentage of people think there is room for improvement in terms of increasing awareness and engagement throughout the organization. 

The survey reports also reveals that only 41% of employees feeling extremely comfortable talking about their social and cultural background in the workplace, which suggests that there may be some barriers or challenges to fostering an open and inclusive environment. It’s important for organizations to address this issue and create a culture where employees feel safe and supported in sharing their backgrounds. 

There is a significant gap that’s reported in this survey as only 39% of people feel they are able to communicate their concerns safely within the organization which indicates that maximum percentage of the employees of their organizations need to create a safe and supportive environment for open communication. It is crucial for all organizations to address this issue promptly to foster trust, engagement, and a healthy work culture. 

The widespread survey also observed that only 13% of the employees feel safe to express their thoughts and ideas without fear of judgment or negative consequences whereas a large percentage of employees don’t feel confident in voicing a contrary opinion in a meeting, indicating a potential lack of psychological safety and open communication within the organization.

A majority of 53% of the participants strongly consider that people from all backgrounds and with a range of identities have equitable opportunities to advance their careers in their organization whereas 22% of the people believe there is a prominent gap in creating a truly inclusive and equitable workplace and crucial to highlight this issue to ensure fairness and equal opportunities for all employees.

With regards to providing educational programs that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace, 23% of employees feel that their company has done a good job educating employees on these important topics. However, many organizations still need to implement these strategies, enhancing their educational programs to create a knowledgeable and inclusive workforce.


On a good note, 52% of employees who participated in the survey feel that they have a career growth path they are aware of in their organization which shows that a significant portion of the workforce perceives opportunities for advancement. However, it also suggests that there is room for improvement to ensure that all employees are aware of and have access to career development opportunities.
