Mumbai 2025 – This Valentine’s season, Woodside Inn and Kari Apla invite you to experience a culinary love story with their exclusive collaboration menu, “Opposites Attract.” From February 5th to 16th, 2025, these two iconic kitchens join forces to craft a dining experience that beautifully marries the bold, vibrant flavors of coastal India with the refined sophistication of global Western cuisine.
The menu is a celebration of contrasts—spicy meets sweet, traditional meets contemporary, and coastal flavors flirt with classic Western fare. With dishes like the Kerala Pepper Fry Chicken Burger paired with French aioli in a multi-grain milk bun or the indulgent Pouillabaise Pasta featuring Pondicherry-inspired curried coconut bisque and fennel-tossed spaghetti, the menu showcases a harmonious union of unexpected elements.
“Collaboration is at the heart of innovation, and this menu embodies that,” says Pankil Shah, Partner at Woodside Inn. “At Woodside Inn, we’ve always believed in pushing culinary boundaries. This collaboration is a testament to the magic of opposites coming together to create something truly unique and memorable.” Adding to this, Sumit Gambhir, Partner at Woodside Inn, remarks, “Valentine’s is about celebrating connections, and what better way to do that than through a menu where every dish tells a story of contrast and harmony.”
For Kari Apla and its Co-founders, this collaboration has been equally meaningful. Chef Ebaani Tewari shares, “We wanted to highlight the beauty of contrasts, not merely for the sake of fusion, but to showcase how diverse culinary sensibilities can complement and elevate one another. Each dish has been intentionally designed to celebrate unexpected harmony.” Chef Mathew Varghese adds, “At Kari Apla, we’re passionate about bringing coastal Indian flavors to the forefront. Partnering with Woodside Inn allowed us to explore how these flavors could meet Western classics in an entirely new way. It’s been a creative challenge, and we’re thrilled with the results.”
This menu also features dishes like the Wild Mushroom-Stuffed Ros Omelette with a Xacuti Curry Twist, Aloo Tuk-inspired Batata Kaap with Mathania Mirchi Aioli, and the Strawberries and Cream dessert—a delightful combination of Mahabaleshwar strawberry butter cake, white chocolate crumble, and kaffir lime-coconut ice cream. The beverages are equally inventive, with standouts like the Coastal Negroni with Kokum-infused Campari and the Curry Leaf and Lemongrass Highball blending tequila, lemonade, and butterfly pea fizz.
This limited-time menu is more than a Valentine’s special; It’s gastronomic proof that opposites truly attract. Whether you’re celebrating with a partner, friends, or
family, the collaboration promises to offer an unforgettable experience that balances contrast and connection—just like love itself.
