Feb 8, 2013: Penguin on Thursday launched a new initiative for aspiring writers to encourage self publishing. The publishing company in association with Author Solutions Inc, launched a new platform named Partridge which will allow the writers to self publish the content in print and e-book format. The writers who would like to get their work published in a ‘pay and get published’ model can choose different packages available on Partridge’s website. The writers can make use of different services such as design, editing, print formatting, marketing etc.

The Partridge platform will also provide wide access to a range of professional services to Indian authors. Penguin with this initiative hopes to tap the new age authors who are coming out with their work in large numbers in India. The titles published on Partridge platform will be monitored by Penguin and the company will give opportunity to such authors to get their work published with Penguin as well. Author Solutions was acquired by Penguin in July 2012 and has got more than 2 lakh titles. The company has helped nearly 1,70,000 authors in publishing their work.
