Securin Labs and IITM Pravartak Partner to Advance AI-Driven Cybersecurity for India’s Critical Infrastructure

Partnership to combine AI-driven vulnerability intelligence, Cyber-Physical Systems security and applied research to strengthen India’s cyber resilience

Chennai, 21st August 2026: Securin Labs, an AI-native cybersecurity company specializing in vulnerability intelligence and exposure management, and IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation, the Technology Innovation Hub hosted by IIT Madras under the Department of Science & Technology’s National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS), today announced a strategic partnership to strengthen cybersecurity research, innovation, and talent development for India’s increasingly connected critical infrastructure.

Under a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the organizations will establish a four-pillar framework spanning technology development and joint research, institutional advisory, commercialization and go-to-market, and international collaboration and thought leadership. The partnership brings together IITM Pravartak’s research and national innovation ecosystem with Securin’s applied expertise in AI-driven vulnerability intelligence, zero-day research, OT/ICS security, and supply-chain risk, creating a pathway from research and vulnerability discovery to practical cybersecurity applications.

The collaboration will initially focus on AI-driven vulnerability discovery and zero-day methodologies, Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) security, and supply-chain vulnerability analysis across Operational Technology (OT) and Industrial Control Systems (ICS). These capabilities will be explored across critical infrastructure sectors, including power, railways, utilities, healthcare, telecommunications, and transportation, with opportunities in defence and state-government AI and cybersecurity initiatives also being explored.
The partnership comes as the convergence of information technology, operational technology, AI and connected physical systems creates increasingly complex security challenges for critical infrastructure. The growing interdependence between digital systems and physical operations means that vulnerabilities in one layer can have consequences across an entire system. By combining research with applied cybersecurity expertise, the partnership aims to help organizations identify vulnerabilities earlier, strengthen connected systems, and build greater resilience into critical infrastructure.

As part of the collaboration, Securin will contribute to the research agenda of IITM Pravartak’s Centre for Human-Centric AI (CHAI) from the outset. The organizations will also explore opportunities with Government of India ministries, Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs), state PSUs and critical infrastructure operators, with potential research, advisory, and deployment opportunities to be identified through a Joint Steering Committee (JSC).

The partnership will also focus on developing the cybersecurity talent required to support this ecosystem. IITM Pravartak’s existing Cybersecurity + AI certificate programme will be extended, alongside new sector-specific executive programs. Internships, capstone projects, and fellowships will provide IIT Madras and Pravartak-affiliated students with opportunities to work on industry-relevant cybersecurity challenges. Securin is also working with Pravartak’s Chief Knowledge Office to incorporate current threat intelligence and industry requirements into curriculum development.

The collaboration has established a defined governance mechanism, with the Joint Steering Committee meeting every two weeks and quarterly in person to review research priorities, institutional opportunities, and potential industry and government engagements. The organizations are targeting their first jointly branded publication within six months of signing, with further research, advisories, white papers, and threat-intelligence outputs expected as individual initiatives are developed.

Securin brings expertise in vulnerability intelligence, zero-day research, attack surface management, automated penetration testing, and CPS security. The company is a CVE Numbering Authority (CNA) and Global CVE (GCVE) Numbering Authority (GNA) and has identified 455 zero-day findings, including 117 confirmed CVE and vendor-issued patch to date.

Commenting on the partnership, Dr. Srinivas Mukkamala, Chief Executive Officer, Securin, said, “India’s cybersecurity challenge is evolving as AI, operational technology, and physical infrastructure become increasingly interconnected. Addressing these risks requires closer collaboration between research institutions and industry to connect advanced research with practical security expertise. Our partnership with IITM Pravartak brings together these complementary strengths to develop capabilities that can address real-world challenges across critical infrastructure, while also strengthening the talent and innovation ecosystem India needs for the future.”

Dr. M. J. Shankar Raman, CEO, IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation, said: “At IITM Pravartak, our focus is on translating advanced research and emerging technologies into solutions that address national priorities. Securin brings strong industry expertise in vulnerability intelligence and cybersecurity, enabling us to deepen the connection between research, application, and talent development. Together, we aim to accelerate innovation in cyber-physical systems security and contribute to a more secure and resilient digital infrastructure for India.”

The partnership is ultimately aimed at creating a stronger link between cybersecurity research, vulnerability discovery, and real-world adoption. By combining IITM Pravartak’s research and institutional ecosystem with Securin’s applied security expertise, the collaboration aims to go beyond reacting to cyber threats by identifying vulnerabilities earlier, strengthening security capabilities, and building more resilient critical infrastructure. As the joint work progresses, the partnership will focus on translating research technology and talent into practical solutions that can contribute to India’s long-term cybersecurity and strategic technology priorities.
