September 17, 2026: NDTV has appointed Sneha Mordani as Health Editor, strengthening its focus on distinctive, credible, and digital-first health journalism.
With 19 years of experience in television journalism, Mordani has worked with India Today, CNN-News18, Times Now and NewsX. Over the years, she has built deep expertise in health and medical journalism, with a body of work spanning public health, medical science, healthcare access, and consumer health and wellness.
At India Today, she created and led COVID 360, which brought together ground reporting, breaking developments, expert interviews, and analysis through the pandemic. Her coverage examined vaccines and vaccine access, COVID-19 among children, black fungus, comorbidities, treatment protocols, public-health measures and preparedness for subsequent waves. She also reported extensively on reopening, travel, crowding and lapses in COVID-appropriate behaviour as restrictions were eased.
She subsequently developed and led Health 360, expanding the conversation beyond the pandemic to medicine, healthcare, nutrition, prevention, lifestyle and wellness. Her reporting has also included important consumer-health stories around food labelling and cough-syrup safety, alongside wider public-health and medical developments.
Welcoming her to NDTV, Rahul Kanwal, CEO and Editor-in-Chief, NDTV, said, ‘Health is one of those areas where journalism can make a direct difference to people’s lives. It demands rigour, credibility and the ability to translate complex information into journalism that audiences can understand and trust. Sneha brings years of specialist reporting experience, strong editorial judgement and a deep understanding of the health beat. We are delighted to have her lead this important area of journalism at NDTV.’
Her appointment comes at an important point in the evolution of NDTV’s focus on the health vertical. The network is actively building NDTV Lifeline as part of its news plus offering, with a digital-first approach aimed at building deeper, more sustained relationships and engagement with audiences around health.
The intent of NDTV Lifeline is to build health journalism that goes beyond reporting developments as they happen – journalism that explains, questions and contextualises, while helping audiences navigate subjects that increasingly influence everyday life.
Vinay Sarawagi, Chief Content Officer, NDTV, said, ‘NDTV Lifeline is being conceived as a digital-first proposition around one of the most important areas of audience interest. The opportunity is to create an ecosystem that brings together trusted journalism, credible expertise and formats designed for the way audiences discover and consume information today. Sneha’s experience in health journalism and her understanding of how to build meaningful, sustained coverage will be integral to shaping that proposition.’
Mordani’s experience in health journalism spans more than a decade. At NewsX, she reported on the 2009 H1N1 pandemic, and at CNN-News18 she led coverage of COVID-19, vaccines, public-health measures and evolving scientific developments. Across her career, she has built a reputation for making complex health and scientific issues accessible to a wider television audience.
She has also interviewed some of the country’s leading voices in medicine, science and healthcare, including Prof. Balram Bhargava, Dr. Randeep Guleria, Dr. Devi Shetty, Dr. Soumya Swaminathan, Dr. Naresh Trehan, Dr. Krishna Ella and Adar Poonawalla, among others.
As Health Editor, she will lead NDTV’s health journalism across television and digital, bringing together strong reporting, credible voices, and original formats.
Sneha is an alumna of Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi, where she studied Political Science, and later trained in journalism at the Indian Institute of Journalism and New Media (IIJNM).
