Bear Robotics, a robotics and artificial intelligence firm, and SoftBank Robotics Group, a leading manufacturer of robotics and solutions, have partnered together to introduce a new robot called Servi to the foodservice and hospitality market. This strategic collaboration brought together the unrivaled robotics technologies of Bear Robotics and the deep expertise of the SoftBank Robotics Company in designing and selling service robots. Working together has helped both companies to satisfy the growing demand for these autonomous indoor robots in restaurants and other dining venues.

Servi has been created to become a current part of the food service team to support employees and improve the overall customer experience. Servi’s endurance and threat recognition put his defence in a class of his own. This has contributed to a major interest in the hospitality industry in Japan, Korea, and the United States. Servi comes with additional features such as bussing, drinking, and patrol mode. This would allow owners of restaurants and dining halls to improve their operational performance, while also increasing the level of service to customers.

The 1-meter-high column-shaped robot, co-developed with California-based Bear Robotics Inc., can handle up to 35-kilogram loads at one time. It indicates that artificial intelligence needs to be used. The robot will deliver and pick up dishes only by entering the table number and pressing the “go” button on the computer. Loaded with three cameras and a sensor, it will avoid hazards such as chairs and tables.”Hall employees can save more time to connect with customers by integrating our robot,” said Dai Sakata, Chief Business Officer of the firm, at an online press conference. “This robot may also be a response to the labour shortages that may arise in the post-coronavirus period” in the greying world, Sakata added.
