Sony Xperia Z3 to launch in India – Preview

Sept 15, 2014:  Earlier this month, Sony unleashed a slew of new devices and the new portfolio includes the flagship Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. Also, the vendor launched a couple of lens-style cameras at the recent tech show held inBerlin.

For the Sony fans in India, the Japanese vendor has announced that the most recent flagship model – Xperia Z3 will be released in India on September 19. However, the handset has already been launched and available for pre-order in several other countries.

When it comes to the Indian market, the previous generation model – Sony Xperia Z2 that was launched at the MWC 2014 in February hit the retail shelves only four months back. Within such a short time span, the handset is all set to be replaced by its successor. However, this move should be good for Sony as the Xperia Z2 would be witnessing a price drop once its sequel enters the market. It has to be noted that there is no word regarding the pricing and availability of the Sony Xperia Z3 in the country.

To summarize the specifications of the Xperia Z3, the handset includes a 5.2 inch FHD 1080p TRILUMINOS display with X-Reality Engine and employs a quad-core 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 801 processor. This processor is aided by 3 GB of RAM and Adreno 330 graphics engine that will handle the multi-tasking and graphic departments efficiently. Also, the chipset provides support to 4G LTE modem as well.

Sony Xperia Z3 running on Android 4.4 KitKat platform features a 20.7 MP Emor RS primary camera at its back that is teamed up with LED flash, auto focus, 4K video recording and 8x digital zoom. The handset is equipped with a front-facing 2.2 MP Selfie camera for video conferencing.

Camera oriented features onboard include Pulsed LED flash, Superior Auto – automatic scene selection, SteadyShot and HDR to mention a few. The Sony flagship model packs an ample 16 GB of default storage capacity that can be expanded further by another 128 GB. There is 4G LTE, NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and aGPS/GLONASS for the handset to stay connected anywhere and anytime. Under its hood is a juicy 3,100 mAh battery along with Sony’s signature Battery Stamina mode that rated to pump in 19 hours of talk time and 740 hours of standby time respectively.
