Sushmita Balasubramaniam has been named as the Chief Executive Officer of KalaGato Consumer Data, according to a recent announcement from KalaGato, a data-driven mobile app aggregator (app buy-out) business based on the Thrasio model. At Kalagato, Sushmita will be in charge of the insights business and increasing customer intelligence.

Speaking about her new position, Sushmita Balasubraniam, CEO of KalaGato Consumer Intelligence, said: “As Indian digital customers change and increase in number, it is becoming more and more necessary for organizations to obtain a single, consolidated understanding of their consumers and their digital behavior. To provide this comprehensive vision, KalaGato is in a special position. We obtain insight into digital activity across a broad spectrum of consumers given the large range of apps being bought and the aim to reach a billion users. We will establish products and services in the coming weeks and months that will provide businesses with continual intelligence about their digital consumers to support the development of crucial business decisions.

With more than 25 years of experience in market research and consumer consulting, Sushmita has thrived on locating consumer insights for decision-making covering the full spectrum of marketing issues, including strategy development, brand opportunity identification, brand communication and promotion, and brand positioning. She began her career with TNS India and later worked for notable research and consulting firms such as GfK and Technopak Advisors. She formerly held the position of South Asia Domain Lead for Commerce & CX at the international consumer consulting firm Kantar Insights, where she worked for more than 10 years.
