Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences (SUAS), Indore, hosted an impactful session on Gender Sensitisation featuring Smt. Vijaya Rahatkar, Hon. Chairperson, National Commission for Women. The event aimed at strengthening awareness, sensitivity, and responsibility among students towards building an equitable and safe society.
The session began with a warm welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Vinith Kumar Nair, Vice-Chancellor, SUAS, who highlighted the university’s commitment to nurturing socially responsible and aware youth. He emphasised the importance of inclusive thinking and gender equality in today’s rapidly evolving world.
Dr. Manish Jha, Registrar, SUAS, graced the occasion and appreciated the initiative taken jointly by the NSS Unit and ICC Cell to facilitate such an enriching interaction for students.
In her keynote address, Smt. Vijaya Rahatkar shared valuable insights on gender roles, women’s safety, social perceptions, and the need for collective action to promote equality. Her engaging interaction with students helped them understand the importance of respect, empathy, and responsibility in everyday behaviour.
