June 12, 2026: Vehant Technologies, a Make-in-India security and surveillance solutions provider, has announced the launch of India’s first indigenous Millimetre-Wave (mmWave) Body Scanner “MilliView®”. Designed, developed, and manufactured in India, the solution is built for airports, CISF, and government agencies, and supports accurate detection of both metallic along with non-metallic threats. The scanner has been tailored specifically for India’s security environment and complies with applicable BCAS guidelines.
The mmWave scanner can identify concealed prohibited items, including sharp edged metal objects, explosives, detonators, flammable materials, and also organic or gel based substances, all while improving screening throughput, day to day operational efficiency, and overall security effectiveness. The innovation has been developed by Vehant Technologies in collaboration with IIT-Delhi, bringing together industry expertise and academic research.
While traditional technologies have primarily focused on detecting metallic objects, emerging threats increasingly involve non-metallic materials. Leveraging safe, non-ionizing millimetre-wave technology and AI-powered threat recognition, MilliView® enables rapid and accurate identification of both metallic and non-metallic prohibited items. The system completes the entire scan and threat assessment process in under 5 seconds, enhancing operational efficiency while enabling security personnel to make faster and more informed screening decisions at high-traffic security checkpoints.
The scanner has been developed specifically for India’s security environment and complies with applicable BCAS guidelines. MilliView® incorporates India-specific threat detection algorithms and security screening requirements, enabling it to address Security Restricted Items (SRIs) as defined by Indian regulatory frameworks. In the near future, the company also plans to pursue European regulatory certification through ECAC, enabling it to expand its presence across European, Middle Eastern, Asian, and African markets.
Speaking on the unveiling of MilliView®, Mr. Kapil Bardeja, Co-founder and CEO, Vehant Technologies, said, “Security threats are evolving rapidly, while many passenger screening systems deployed across airports and critical infrastructure were designed for an era when metallic weapons were the primary concern. Today, security agencies face a broader spectrum of threats, including concealed non-metallic items that often remain difficult to detect using conventional screening systems. MilliView® has been designed to address these evolving security challenges by enabling faster and more accurate threat detection. Industry experts have long recognized this gap, driving the global adoption of advanced body scanning technologies capable of detecting both metallic and non-metallic threats.”
“With MilliView®, we are introducing India’s first indigenous millimetre-wave body scanner to address these emerging security requirements. The solution combines advanced millimetre-wave imaging, artificial intelligence, and India-specific threat detection capabilities to deliver faster, more accurate, and privacy-preserving screening. Beyond the technology itself, this launch demonstrates India’s growing ability to design, develop, and manufacture strategic security systems domestically, supporting the vision of Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat while reducing dependence on imported technologies, he further added”
To ensure passenger privacy, the system displays potential threat locations on a generic, gender-neutral avatar rather than producing anatomical images. With its ability to enhance security screening efficiency and threat detection accuracy, MilliView® is well-positioned and soon to be deployed across airports, transportation networks, government establishments, critical infrastructure assets, and other sensitive security environments.
