Wellness matters: In conversation with Natashya Philips, Managing Director & Co-Founder, LCHHS

  1. Tell us a little about LCHHS. What is the core vision, and what inspired its inception?

LCHHS (Luke Coutinho Holistic Healing Systems) was built on a simple yet powerful vision: to transform health by addressing the root cause of illness rather than just managing symptoms.

When we started, there was a clear gap in healthcare—people had access to medicine, but they were still getting sicker. There was either a purely medical approach or an alternative approach. What was missing was an integrated, lifestyle-first approach—one that bridges the gap between conventional medicine and holistic well-being.

This is where Integrative and Lifestyle Medicine became our focus. We believe health isn’t just about treating illness but about understanding the human body as a whole—its rhythms, its intelligence, and its deep connection to the way we eat, move, think, breathe, and rest.

At LCHHS, we don’t just offer solutions; we create sustainable, long-term change. Our approach is deeply personalized, grounded in science, and rooted in India’s time-tested wisdom. Health isn’t something you need to chase—it’s already within you. Our role is simply to guide you back to it.

Our core vision? A world where people don’t just manage their health—they own it. We’re here to help individuals move from reactive healthcare to proactive wellness, making prevention, self-care, and lifestyle the first line of defense, not the last resort.

2. What are the key pillars that form the foundation of your wellness programs?

True wellness is about synergy—the way different aspects of health come together to create balance. This is why our entire philosophy is built on the six pillars of lifestyle, each playing a vital role in achieving sustainable health and well-being.

Every health journey we design is built on six pillars of lifestyle —the essential elements of sustainable well-being:

  • Deep Cellular Nutrition – Going beyond fad diets and extreme regimens, focusing on food as medicine and supporting the body at a cellular level.
  • Adequate Movement – Encouraging intelligent, sustainable exercise that works for the body rather than against it.
  • Quality Sleep – Prioritizing deep, restorative rest by optimizing circadian rhythms and sleep hygiene.
  • Emotional Wellness – Recognizing the mind-body connection and addressing stress, trauma, and mental well-being.
  • Reconnecting with the Spirit – Finding a sense of balance and inner connection, whether through meditation, mindfulness, or personal introspection.
  • Breath – The simplest yet most powerful tool to regulate stress, shift into healing mode, and restore homeostasis and equilibrium.

These pillars don’t work in isolation. Health is an ecosystem—everything is connected. Addressing just one aspect won’t create long-term change. That’s why our approach looks at the full picture, making sustainable wellness possible.

  1. In a market filled with various health and wellness solutions, what sets LCHHS apart?

LCHHS wasn’t just built—it evolved out of a deep need to bridge the gap between conventional healthcare and true, sustainable well-being. We saw a world where people were either relying solely on symptomatic treatments or navigating fragmented wellness advice that didn’t always have a scientific backbone. Our mission was clear: to make Integrative and Lifestyle Medicine accessible, simple, actionable, and deeply personal.

We don’t believe in quick fixes, cookie-cutter plans, or one-size-fits-all wellness. LCHHS is not just another wellness company—it’s a movement.

What makes us different?

  • Personalization at its core – Every protocol is uniquely personalised, factoring in lifestyle, medical history, bio-individuality, and even emotional health.
  • A science-backed, integrative approach – We bridge the best of conventional medicine with the power of lifestyle changes, ensuring our patients don’t just feel better but actually get better – physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
  • A global team of experts – Over 110+ professionals, including clinical nutritionists, doctors, yoga and fitness experts, emotional wellness counselors, life coaches and more, working together for every individual.
  • Real results, real people – We have thousands of testimonials proving that when you truly address the root cause, transformation follows.

At the heart of it all, we don’t just treat, we empower—giving people the tools, knowledge, and confidence to take control of their health for life. That’s what makes LCHHS different, and that’s why our approach works.

  1. Why do you believe in personalized, tailored solutions? Why is this approach important in today’s scenario?

Health is deeply personal. No two individuals share the same lifestyle, genetic blueprint, or emotional landscape, which is why a tailored approach is not just beneficial—it’s essential.

In today’s world, wellness advice is everywhere, but much of it follows a generic, one-size-fits-all model. What works for one person may not work for another. A corporate professional dealing with chronic stress will have different needs from an athlete aiming for peak performance. A new mother navigating postpartum recovery will require a different strategy than someone managing an autoimmune condition. The key to sustainable health lies in understanding the individual, not just the illness.

As a team, we believe in bringing care back into healthcare. Every recommendation is designed to fit seamlessly into a person’s life. The focus is on realistic, sustainable changes—not rigid plans or drastic overhauls. We call them ‘small wins’. By considering nutrition, movement, sleep, emotional health, and overall lifestyle, we ensure that well-being is not just improved but truly transformed.

Personalized health is the future. People don’t need quick fixes; they need solutions that evolve with them, supporting their unique journey every step of the way. That’s the LCHHS way.

  1. What made you choose the field of health and wellness? Share with us your journey thus far.

Health and wellness didn’t feel like a choice—it felt like a calling. From my earliest experiences working in gyms as an aerobics instructor to leading corporate training teams globally, one thing remained clear: people thrive when they feel good—physically, mentally, and emotionally.

My journey has been dynamic. I started working right after school, exploring different industries, from fitness to telecommunications to corporate leadership. Those years shaped my understanding of discipline, adaptability, and the importance of real human connection. While my corporate career took me across industries, the foundation of my work was always people. Managing large teams and training professionals across continents taught me that well-being is the cornerstone of performance—whether in business, personal life, or recovery from illness.

Stepping into Integrative and Lifestyle Medicine felt like coming full circle. LCHHS isn’t just about health; it’s about giving people the tools, knowledge, and confidence to take ownership of their well-being in a way that works for them. This isn’t just a career—it’s a mission. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

  1. How have you seen the field evolve over the years? What do you think the future holds for the wellness industry, globally and in India?

The wellness sector has changed substantially over the years. There was a time when health was reactive—people sought solutions only when problems surfaced. Today, the conversation is shifting. More individuals, brands, and even healthcare systems are recognizing the importance of preventive, personalized, and integrative health solutions.

Globally, the demand for holistic well-being has never been higher. Trends like precision nutrition, bio-individuality, and mind-body medicine are gaining momentum. Science is reinforcing what many ancient practices have long believed—that true health is not just about treating illness but about nurturing the body, mind, and spirit together.

In India, the shift is even more pronounced. People are moving away from extreme diets, generic workout routines, and quick fixes. They are seeking solutions that align with their lifestyles, cultural backgrounds, and long-term health goals. There is a growing trust in integrative medicine, functional nutrition, and emotional well-being as essential pillars of health.

The future belongs to personalized, sustainable wellness. People are no longer looking for temporary transformations; they want lifelong vitality. At LCHHS, we are proud to be at the forefront of this movement—bridging the best of science, tradition, and lifestyle medicine to help individuals take charge of their well-being, not just for today, but for life.

  1. As a leader, what values do you prioritise in your team?

A strong team is built on trust, integrity, and purpose. I believe in creating a culture where ownership, adaptability, and continuous learning are non-negotiable. Wellness is an ever-evolving field, and staying ahead means embracing innovation while staying rooted in compassion.

Our team comprises of deeply passionate and driven self-starters, united by the vision to put care back into healthcare. Every team member is encouraged to think independently yet collaborate seamlessly—because transformation happens when expertise meets empathy. Above all, I value resilience and accountability—showing up every day with the commitment to make a real difference in people’s lives.

  1. Working with a variety of experts, what does your selection process entail?

When you work with us, one thing becomes evident: expertise alone isn’t enough. We seek individuals who align with our mission, values, and philosophy of integrative healing, backed by rock-solid credentials that walk the talk. Our selection process is meticulous and deeply intentional. Beyond qualifications and experience, we look for professionals who are passionate about transforming lives, driven by integrity, and committed to continuous learning.

Luke personally plays a role in handpicking our team, ensuring that every expert—whether in nutrition, emotional wellness, movement, medicine, or research—shares our vision. All coaches go through extensive training and regularly undergo regular recertifications to stay at the forefront of their fields. We look for self-starters, individuals who see their work not just as a job, but as a calling to serve and create impact.

  1. How do you ensure that your team aligns with the core philosophy of LCHHS?

Alignment isn’t something we enforce—it’s something we cultivate. At LCHHS, a career is more than a role; it’s an opportunity to be part of a movement. From the start, we prioritize onboarding and mentorship that immerses every team member in our philosophy of holistic well-being, patient-first care, and integrative health.

We create a culture of learning and evolution, where ongoing training, collaborative discussions, and real-life case studies help our team embody the principles we stand for. All our coaches undergo extensive training and recertifications, ensuring they remain the best in the field, constantly refining their skills and deepening their expertise. But more than training, it’s about who we bring in—our team is made up of driven, compassionate individuals who believe in putting care back into healthcare. That shared mission is what keeps us aligned, motivated, and constantly growing together.

  1. What major changes will make wellness more effective and accessible?

The future of wellness demands a shift from reactive care to proactive, preventive healthcare. With chronic diseases like diabetes projected to double by 2050, the focus must move toward holistic models that integrate nutrition, movement, sleep, and emotional well-being.

Technology-driven solutions—such as digital health platforms, AI-driven diagnostics, and telemedicine—are making expert care more accessible while empowering individuals to take charge of their health. The Food is Medicine movement, fasting protocols, and circadian rhythm research are now central to modern healthcare, reinforcing the idea that lifestyle is the first and most powerful line of defense.

Equally important is accountability in food and essential goods. Ensuring access to clean, honest, high-quality ingredients, toxin-free products, and ethical sourcing will redefine public health. The shift is already underway, and the path forward is clear—wellness must be built into everyday life, not treated as an afterthought.

  1. With technology and digital health advancements changing the healthcare landscape, how do you see them shaping the future of wellness programs?

Technology is redefining wellness by making healthcare personalized, predictive, and preventive. The rise of AI-driven analytics and digitized consultations enables bespoke health protocols based on an individual’s unique biology, no matter where they live.

Wearables and remote monitoring are helping people track key health markers in real-time, allowing for early intervention and long-term prevention. Telehealth and digital wellness platforms have already broken geographical barriers, making expert care more accessible than ever.

Beyond technology, knowledge expansion remains a priority. Continuous training and recertification for wellness professionals ensure that integrative health remains science-backed, data-driven, and results-oriented. The future of wellness is clear—a world where healthcare doesn’t just treat illness but actively builds health, resilience, and longevity.

  1. Managing a company and a team can be demanding. How do you personally maintain a healthy work-life balance?

Work and life aren’t separate boxes; they flow into each other. The key is presence—being fully engaged in what I’m doing, whether it’s leading a meeting, making a strategic decision, or spending time with family. I don’t believe in rigid structures, but I do believe in boundaries, efficiency, and self-awareness.

Flexibility is powerful. Some days require intense focus; others allow space for reflection and recalibration. Prioritizing quality over quantity always works well for me: whether in meetings, family time, or self-care routines. Movement, mindful pauses, and emotional wellness aren’t just concepts we teach; they are integral to how I lead and live every day. Balance isn’t about doing it all. It’s about knowing what truly matters at the moment and showing up fully for it.

  1. Within LCHHS, how do you cultivate a culture that promotes stress management and productivity at the same time?

Well-being isn’t a perk at LCHHS—it’s part of our work culture. With a work-from-home model, we encourage employees to integrate wellness into their daily lives. Our team is predominantly women, many balancing careers with family life, so flexibility, autonomy, and mutual support are key.

Stress is inevitable, but how we manage it makes all the difference. We emphasize self-paced workflows, open communication, and a results-driven approach, allowing employees to work efficiently without burnout. Productivity isn’t about working longer; it’s about working smarter, healthier, and with purpose—and that’s exactly the environment we cultivate at LCHHS.

  1. How do you envision the growth of LCHHS in the coming years? What key areas are you focusing on?

The future of wellness is integrative, preventive, and deeply personalized. As healthcare shifts from symptom management to root-cause healing, we are focused on pioneering bio-individual protocols—leveraging advances in genetic testing, gut microbiome science, and AI-driven health analytics to create tailored health strategies.

Beyond individual wellness, we are working closely with global leaders, organizations, and governments to push for clean air, toxin-free food, and healthcare models that prioritize prevention over-prescription. Corporate wellness is another major frontier, ensuring workplaces become hubs for stress resilience, metabolic health, and holistic well-being.

The world is moving toward a ‘Food is Medicine’ approach, merging functional medicine, holistic health protocols, and cutting-edge science. Our goal is to ensure integrative health becomes the global standard—not as an alternative, but as the foundation of sustainable well-being. This shift isn’t decades away. It’s happening now, and we’re leading the way.
