Zepto Strengthens Food Safety Commitment with Hyderabad Edition of ‘Zepto Sankalp

Following its first edition in Mumbai, Zepto expanded ‘Zepto Sankalp’ to Hyderabad, training 120+ food handlers.

Hyderabad,April 30, 2026: Zepto Limited organised a mass food safety awareness training programme for its food handlers in Hyderabad as part of Zepto Sankalp, the company’s flagship food safety initiative.

Building on the success of its previous edition held in Mumbai, marks the continued expansion of the Sankalp Programme. This reinforces Zepto’s commitment towards embedding food safety practices across its growing network. 

The session, held at FTCCI, Hyderabad, brought together hundreds of food handlers, including last-mile delivery partners and pickers. Led by Food Safety Works, the training sensitised  trainees on key food safety practices such as hygiene protocols, appropriate food storage temperatures, and compliance standards critical to ensuring the safe delivery of essentials to consumers.

The event was attended by senior officials from the Office of the Commissioner of Food Safety, Government of Telangana, including Shri P. Murthy Raju, Assistant Food Controller, GHMC; Shri B. Laxmi Kanth, Gazetted Food Inspector; and Dr. Srivenaka, Food Safety Officer.

 Speaking on the initiative, Srinivas Reddy, Senior Director, Zonal Operations, Zepto, said, “At Zepto, a users’ trust is built on the assurance of quality and safety in every order delivered. As we expand the Zepto Sankalp Programme to Hyderabad, we remain committed to equipping our food handlers with the right knowledge and practices. Shri P. Murthy Raju, Assistant Food Controller, GHMC added ”Ensuring food safety is a shared responsibility that rests on awareness, consistent on-ground practices, and strong compliance. Initiatives like Zepto Sankalp that build capacity, improve hygiene standards, and enhance accountability across the ecosystem are essential to delivering safe food at scale.”

Sarika Agarwal, Managing Director, Food Safety Works said “Every safe meal is supported by food handlers who understand the importance of hygiene and compliance. Training initiatives like these help strengthen awareness, encourage accountability, and create safer food systems at scale.”

The programme is part of Zepto’s ongoing efforts to build a strong culture of compliance and responsibility across operations. Supported by internal audits, regular inspections, and close engagement with regulatory authorities, Zepto continues to embed food safety across sourcing, storage, and last-mile delivery.

To date, Zepto has trained nearly 60,000+ food handlers nationwide, with over 4,000+ FOSTAC-certified partners, reflecting its commitment to raising food safety standards in quick commerce.
