Intel has been on the go in terms of transforming computing at the edge for many years. They are currently aiming at delivering values to the customer from a wide range of industries that range from areas of life sciences and health to even industrial, telecommunication and retail industry and go even beyond.

There have been predictions made by an analyst that by the year 2023, about 75 % of data created will be most likely outside the data centre most likely it would be from cities, factories, hospitals and even stores. There is also an estimation that more than 50% of data is going to be processed, their storage and even their analysis directly at the edge, that are aimed to be delivered with the right latency, its reliability, security, bandwidth, and privacy.

With the ever-growing pace of AI being pervasive and the networking technology being transformed to be well equipped to deliver 5G; expectations have been laid that edge would be delivering tremendous business value along with the improvement it brings in our day-to-day life.

As per Christian Boles (VP of IoT Group and GM, Industrial Solutions Division, Intel), stated that current pandemic has created an urge for companies to accelerate their pace to reach completion of Industry 4.0 transformation with solutions that will enhance their flexibility, efficiency and visibility in their operations. It would be evident for us to witness an acceleration whilst company adapt solutions helping them address their very needs which range from AI including its various components such as machine vision, machine learning and advanced analytics. Currently, we can see the economy bouncing back from the fall it witnessed it will enable to see organizations further invest for laying the foundations of OT infrastructure with greater IT Capabilities enabling the broad ecosystem of competitors to use the best of the technology to deploy the solutions while we witness Industry 4.0 adopting significantly ramping up in 2021.

Hence, we may be able to see a huge uprise in implementation of edge computing backed by the investment made in the upcoming years enabling organizations to improve their performance making their products much more efficient and affordable.
