A New Logo, New Era launched by Prasar Bharati

One of the early risers of television, public service broadcaster Prasar Bharati waved a new era by launching its new logo. The following new logo was launched on Monday by the secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Apurva Chandra. The broadcasting service changed its logo almost after a prolonged decade when it was first launched as a part of the Akash Vani project.

During the launch, man officials of Prasar Bharati were present during the launch of the New Logo of the same. Officials such as Mayank Kumar, the Chief Executive Officer of the Prasar Bharati were also present at that moment, other members such as Dev Negi the finance head of Prasar Bharati, and senior officers of the I&B ministry and state broadcasters were also present. The new logo signifies the beginning of a new era for the television channel and henceforth it will be an autonomous statutory body that will function directly under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

Talking about the past of Prasar Bharati, it started as an initiative by Akash Vani under the banner of All India Radio (AIR) and the most renowned TV channel Doordarshan (DD) was born from Prasar Bharati. Doordarshan later went on to become the household name for the country’s every home, as it was one of the cheapest and most entertaining channels of the 90s. the (PB) first came as the enactment from the parliament as an individual channel organization that can operate with regulations stated by the Government of India.

The logo of the Prasar Bharati signifies the elements of broadcasting and the circle that centers state the map of India with trust, security, and perfection that would be held for a common man. The dark blue color moderates the sky and sea at the same time visualizing the elements as no limit to creativity. These elements are associated to open spaces, freedom, imagination, intuition, inspiration, and sensitivity. The dark blue color also pays is a tribute to the ethos and traditions of India that are being collateral to the freedom fighters of the pre-independent era. It also gives freedom to think and aspire to the youth while paying respect to the mythological stories such as Ramayana and Mahabharata.
