Akasa Air welcomes its 38th aircraft

National, 22nd  April 2026: Akasa Air, India’s fastest-growing airline, received delivery of its 38th aircraft, marking its seventh induction in the first four months of CY 2026. This sustained pace of fleet additions will enable the  airline to further deepen its network while reinforcing its role as a key contributor to India’s aviation growth story. 

The first leg of the 38th aircraft’s delivery flight commenced from Seattle, USA to Reykjavik, Iceland and  concluded with the final leg from Cairo, Egypt, to Bengaluru, India. Bearing registration number VT-YBK, the  Boeing 737 MAX 8-200 aircraft arrived at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru on 21st April 2026.  

The aircraft is purpose-built to Akasa’s specifications and equipped with Safran Z200 seats, a next-generation  seating solution designed to elevate the in-flight experience. The seats feature a generous four-inch recline, an  ergonomically contoured backrest, and enhanced cushioning for superior sitting comfort, alongside thoughtfully  positioned additional conveniences such as USB-C and USB-A ports to support the needs of today’s hyper 

connected travellers. 

Since commencing operations in August 2022, Akasa Air has demonstrated a consistent approach to building  scale. With each aircraft induction, the airline continues to strengthen its presence across domestic and  international markets, enhancing connectivity and unlocking new travel possibilities. This growth is underpinned  by a strong focus on operational reliability, cost leadership, and world-class customer experience. 

Akasa Air has placed a firm order for 226 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, with a robust pipeline of 188 additional  aircraft scheduled for delivery over the next six years, reflecting its commitment to supporting India’s rapidly  growing demand for travel.
