Bajaj Auto, India’s leading manufacturer of two-wheeler and three-wheeler is already starting to see a strong re-growth in demand together both international as well as in domestic markets.

Bajaj Auto official says exports and domestic sales have picked again in this post lockdown period for two-wheelers. The company added that this growth comes even though it is under pressure with demand in the three-wheeler market. But the company is being careful and celebrating just yet.

Bajaj Auto believes this revival in demand may just be a result of more demand from the last few months when the country was set under lockdown pandemic period. The company explained that it expects to have considerably great clarity about the matter, therefore if this is indeed a re-growth in demand or really just pent-up demand.

Between this year April and June, Bajaj Auto retailed 1,85,981 two-wheelers in India, marking a decline of 69.55 % as compared to the 6,10,936 units during the same period on 2019.

Bajaj Auto was seeing a month-on-month improvement in sales. They faced problems like turn down sales in April 2020 while the turn down was very large in May. June month sale was radically better than May month sale and July is much better than the June sale. They said that the demand is coming back sharply and it could be a constrained demand as well, so the clarity would come out only in August of this year.

Plenty of industry experts believe the market will return to regular by later this year during the festive period. Bajaj is confident but, again, not getting its hopes up just yet. About the demand being back in full swing in the festive period, Ray said that there is no reason why it should not happen. But, they will have to see in August 2020. If they have reasonably strong August then they are set for a good festive season.
