National, 30th January 2026: If there is one thing India knows how to celebrate, it is birthdays. This National Croissant Day, Britannia Treat Croissant borrowed from that very spirit and turned the occasion into Croissant’s Birthday, complete with music, cheering crowds and a larger-than-life celebration. Stepping out of the aisle and into the streets, the brand marked the day with a lively procession that celebrated the growing love for croissants.

At the heart of the celebration was a life-sized cut-out of the Britannia Treat Croissant, taking centre stage as it made its way through the streets. With people dancing, chanting slogans and joining in spontaneously, the rally felt instantly familiar, like the kind of birthday celebration you do not plan for but end up being part of anyway.

The celebration was a natural extension of how Britannia Treat Croissant has been showing up beyond the product. Over time, the brand has tapped into everyday behaviours and cultural moments to make croissants more approachable and relatable for Indian consumers. From the widely talked-about pronunciation internship that addressed how India says “croissant,” to owning the Croissant-Prashant trend to celebrating this special day, the brand has focused on building familiarity and fun around the category.
Speaking about the initiative, Shekhar Agarwal, General Manager, Marketing, Cakes, Rusks and Croissants, Britannia, said, “Croissant, as a category, is still evolving in India, and our focus has been on building it with consistency and intent. We are investing in making Croissants more familiar, more accessible, and part of everyday life. Celebrating Croissant’s Birthday on National Croissant Day is one of the many ways we are democratising the category and creating moments that people want to be part of and remember. We aim to make Croissant synonymous with Britannia Treat Croissant.”
The birthday bash extended well beyond the streets. Zepto joined the celebration by spotlighting Croissant’s Birthday on its app homepage and through high-visibility OOH placement, making it easy for consumers to join the party and order their favourite croissant with just a tap.

Whether you are a fan of the classic Cocoa, creamy Vanilla or Mixed Fruit, there is a Britannia Treat Croissant for every mood. And with Croissant’s Birthday at the centre of it all, it is clear that this is one birthday worth celebrating again and again.
