Technology and science have created revolutionary changes for the past few decades. Adversities fueled growth and challenges created opportunities. In the pandemic situation, when the world comes to rest, there are new possibilities that pave the way to success.  Nothing is far away; technology connects people around the world.  Today, ICT has advanced and brings everything closer. With a cell phone, everything can be accessed just a hand away.

In India, another breakthrough in e-commerce is the launch of a new online platform called “The Fuel Delivery”. According to Rakshit Mathur, (founder and CEO, The Fuel Delivery) doorstep delivery of diesel is not a new concept but catching buyers’ attention is something great. He said that they are concentrating on wholesale deliveries rather than retail. The company wants to be different in the fast-evolving industry and is targeting sectors such as corporate campuses, educational institutions, real estate, construction sites, shopping malls, warehouses, agricultural sites, etc. The app is mainly intended for commercial purposes however individuals can also make use of it. Luckily, they have applied for the license before the beginning of the pandemic hence they were unaffected by the social distancing norms.

Rakshit stated that their company ensures safety by using the best quality items such as pressure vacuum valve, emergency vent, spark arrestor, etc. in the fuel dispensing browsers which are accepted by the concerned officials. The dispenser has a meter that enables the customers to identify how much fuel has been taken into generators or other related machinery. The Company adheres to the standard mentioned by Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO) and all other safety regulations set by OMCs, MoPNG, and other stakeholders. The quality of the fuel is ensured as it orders only from IOCL. The company provides high-speed diesel and the minimum quantity supplied is 50 liter per order. The price is the same as the rate prevailing in the city for that particular day. The delivery charge is Rs 99 per delivery till 5,000 liters.

The Fuel Delivery app is available on android or apple devices and the URL for desktop is thefueldelivery.app. The customers can order the fuel, make payment, get to know about consumption details, and track delivery through the app. It collects details such as customer name, mobile number, quantity ordered, and address. The company based on the guidelines and policies announced by the government and other stakeholders will set up infrastructure to undertake the delivery of fuel for electric vehicles. The Fuel Delivery started its operations in the Delhi NCR region and Mumbai. It is expected to expand its services to Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Chandigarh, and Kolkata within a year. Rakshit concludes that the segment can become a ‘FuelEnt’ (Fuel Entrepreneur) while creating jobs at the primary level.
