ParentCircle announced to launch #GadgetFreeHour on World Children’s Day on November 20, 2021, from 7.30 pm to 8.30 pm.

#GadgetFreeHour campaign expects to receive massive participation from 50 million people. They are ready to disconnect from all kinds of gadgets for one hour on this World Children’s Day.

ParentCircle works with a mission to enable parents to uplift children through holistic parenting. It exclusively supports Indian parents to get innovative methods to develop parenting skills effectively.

This parenting magazine acts as a parenting guide. It becomes a storehouse of a multitude of tips and ideas for great parenting.

#GadgetFreeHour campaign, initiated in 2019, was always a great success, ever since its launch.

During the year 2020, the coronavirus pandemic shut all kinds of physical interactions between humans.

Digital technology was the only way that allowed man-to-man conversation. Thus screen time turned out to be an essential part of our daily life.

Thus, the campaign of 2020 becomes a successful event receiving support from over a million parents and 41,635 schools.

In this November 2021, it comes with the third edition of the campaign. #GadgetFreeHour gains momentum with the support of over 10 million people.

Supporters in the list include educational institutions, private schools, NGOs, corporates, cine stars, sportspersons, etc.

Nalina Ramalakshmi, Founder and Managing Director of ParentCircle, gives a clear idea of the campaign. She says that disconnecting gadgets for just one hour will enable parents to find time with their children.

Both of them could indulge in activities like talking, eating, playing, and laughing with lots of fun and excitement. The campaign would rediscover the happiness created in parent-child bonding.

The Tamil Nadu Government Education Department supports the #GadgetFreeHour campaign by asking teachers and students to detach from online class schedules for an hour and to spend quality time with their families.

The Puducherry Government has also spread the message of go-gadget free in all the schools of the union territory.

PR Venketrama Raja, Chairman of RamcoGroup, stated a very insightful statement about the campaign. He said that in this age of information overload, “We need to quiet our minds and pause to think.”

ParentCircle has given us a chance to practice it. It has also launched a challenge named ‘Back to Childhood.’ The challenge inspires parents to devote five gadget-free minutes every day for 14 days with their children.
