Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL), a leading upcoming markets company and InnerHour (digital mental health platform), have come together to offer Mind Care+ program for healthcare professionals (HCPs).

Championed by GCPL Corporate Social Responsibility, through this initiative InnerHour will reach out to a broad section of over five million doctors, nurses and frontline healthcare professionals (HCPs) to help them manage stress, depression and anxiety aggravated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

HCPs have been at the frontline in the battle against the pandemic. The greater risks of infections among HCPs, coupled with a sense of duty towards the infected and the need to protect their beloved, has resulted in surged susceptibility to mental health conditions.

As per the IMA, at least 40 per cent of doctors were infected with COVID-19, with over 1,000 having surrendered since April 2020. In this context, HCPs are at elevated risk of mental health disorders like insomnia, stress, addiction, anxiety and depression.

To support HCPs in their efforts against COVID-19 through effective management and counsel, Mind Care+ will give pro-bono therapy sessions starting July 2021.

India was struggling with mental health issues even before the pandemic. According to the WHO, 1 in 4 individuals across the world suffers from mental disorders. We have over 200 million people who are affected by mental health issues of varying severity in India. The situation has been further compounded due to the ongoing pandemic.

InnerHour fills the need gap in an environment where expressing people’s emotional distress is looked down upon. Individuals can seek help through a set of self-help tools coupled with on-call therapy in extreme privacy.

InnerHour offers free tests, a range of personalized content, Cognitive Behavior Therapy Tools (CBT), and 1 to 1 support to individuals through its app based platforma. Adding to the digital self-help tools, users can access a network of over 120 highly experienced and qualified therapists across 150 cities in India.

GCPL through its CSR efforts has been backing the public healthcare system proactively over the last year.

GCPL has collected and delivered medical supplies, sanitation supplies, equipment, oxygen concentrators and protective gear to hospitals across the country. It has also donated to set up hospital beds and supported ICU beds.
