Private sector lender HDFC bank announced plans to open 207 branches and 80 smart banking lobbies in Maharashtra this year.
The bank plans to rent over 3,000 employees across the country as part of the expansion plan. The 207 financial institution branches will unfold nationwide, covering all 34 districts. Of those, 90 branches can be opened in metro and concrete regions, while 117 units will be in semi-urban and rural areas.
“Along with this, the banks are growing their footprint of its smart banking lobbies inside their empire. It plans to open over eighty clever banking lobbies, which give seamless self-service banking experience zone for the virtual-savvy bank purchasers,” it stated in an announcement.
The bank said the clever banking lobbies might be located in sixteen districts – Ahmednagar, Akola, Amravati, Aurangabad, Dhule, Jalgaon, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nandurbar, Nashik, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Thane, and Wardha.

In Maharashtra, HDFC bank has over 5300 touchpoints along with 709 branches, 3200 ATMs, 1,375 commercial enterprise correspondents, and 15,116 business facilitators.
As on 31 March, the bank’s advances within the nation stood at ₹3.28 trillion. Total advances encompass all loans supplied via banks in the kingdom, including loans to retail, company, MSME, and microfinance customers. The major areas are MSME, Agri, precedence region lending, and purchaser mortgage. The financial institution stated it has deposits of ₹4.35 trillion in Maharashtra.
Additionally, the bank has deposits of Rs 4,35,604 crores in the nation of Maharashtra, which along with the advances, upload up to public enterprise of Rs. 7,64,113 crores.
The smart centers gives services like digital onboarding for opening new HDFC accounts, address changes, and along with chequebook requests also.
The bank’s market proportion in total business is 13 percent. With this, the bank is the largest personal area bank in Maharashtra in terms of Deposits and Advances.
