IIFL Home Finance Partners with Samarthanam Trust to Advance Blind Cricket in India

The collaboration aims to strengthen opportunities for visually impaired cricketers, promote inclusivity in sports, and support the growth of Cricket

New Delhi, India, 11th June 2026: IIFL Home Finance, one of India’s leading affordable housing finance companies, has partnered with the Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) and Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled to support and strengthen Cricket for the Blind in India. As part of this collaboration, the organisations have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to organise the India–Nepal Bilateral Blind Cricket Series, featuring five T20 matches scheduled to be held in the Delhi-NCR region in October 2026.

The engagement aims to provide visually impaired cricketers with a competitive international platform while strengthening awareness of and participation in blind cricket across the country.

Aligned with IIFL Home Finance’s larger vision of fostering inclusive growth and enabling opportunities for underserved communities, the partnership reflects the company’s continued focus on supporting initiatives that drive empowerment, confidence, and long-term social impact. Through this initiative, the company aims to contribute towards building a more inclusive sporting ecosystem for visually impaired athletes.

Sports has the power to inspire, empower, and drive meaningful social change, and this initiative reflects our continued commitment towards inclusive community development.”

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Mahantesh G Kivadasannavar – Chairman of Cricket Association for the Blind in India, said, “Cricket for the Blind has emerged as one of the most powerful tools for empowering persons with visual impairment, providing them with opportunities for leadership, teamwork, confidence-building, and professional development. Through structured training, competitive tournaments, and international exposure, the sport has enabled visually impaired athletes to break social barriers and gain recognition at national and global levels. We thank IIFL Home Finance for joining hands with us and helping us in the development of the Game”

The upcoming India-Nepal bilateral series is expected to bring together talented visually impaired cricketers from both countries, showcasing their skill, determination, and resilience on an international stage. The tournament is also expected to raise awareness of blind cricket and encourage greater engagement from the sporting community, disability rights advocates, and broader audiences.
