Hyderabad, 13 July 2026: Khaitan & Co, a leading full-service law firm, has appointed two Partners and two Counsel in Hyderabad, Telangana, marking the establishment of its new office and a significant step in its long-term growth strategy for southern India.
Basava Rao and Shabbeer Ahmed have joined as Partners in the Corporate and Dispute Resolution practice respectively, along with Vasavi Kaparthi and Aneesh Vempati coming in as Counsel in the Real Estate and Dispute Resolution practices. They are joined by a robust and experienced team of legal and allied professionals across practice areas, taking the total strength of the Hyderabad office to 15 members. The appointments represent the Firm’s strategic foray into one of India’s booming and progressive business hubs.
Hyderabad has emerged as a powerhouse of innovation and growth, driven by the presence of leading multinational and domestic corporations, a vibrant technology ecosystem, fast expanding GCC landscape and increasing global investor interest. The new office will initially offer on-the-ground services across Corporate, Real Estate and Dispute Resolution, including Tax Litigation, while drawing on the Firm’s full-service platform to advise clients across a wide range of practices, including capital markets, tax, intellectual property, private client and estate planning, white collar crime, competition law, defence and homeland security and other specialised areas.

Basava has over 17 years of experience in corporate and commercial laws, including major M&A and PE-VC deals, restructuring and innovative financial models. Shabbeer possesses over 18 years of experience in complex litigation, insolvency and risk mitigation, advising multinational clients across sectors including technology, banking and finance, infrastructure and real estate.
Vasavi brings 11 years of experience in domestic and cross-border M&A, private equity and venture capital investments, commercial leasing, real estate financing and title diligence. Aneesh, who also possesses 11 years of experience and specialises in commercial disputes, litigation and arbitration matters across diverse sectors.
With these appointments, Khaitan & Co continues to strengthen its presence across India’s key business centres. Following its recent expansion into GIFT City and now Hyderabad, the Firm now has a presence in 11 Indian cities, along with an international office in Singapore.
