In his second enchanting video from the “Melodies of India” series, Raunaq takes us on a journey to the picturesque village of Harsil in Uttarakhand. Nestled amidst the breathtaking Himalayas, Harsil unveils a unique celebration that is as heartwarming as it is extraordinary. The villagers, in their devotion to the goddess, have chosen a special way to express sacrifice – crafting intricate goat figures out of pumpkins instead of sacrificing real animals. This charming episode, released on November 18th, not only captures the beauty of Harsil but also showcases the community’s blend of tradition and innovation. Raunaq’s lens beautifully portrays a celebration that resonates with unity, creativity, and the warmth of Uttarakhand’s heart.

“Going on this big adventure has been like seeing a lot of different things and feeling lots of different feelings. From where the Ganges starts at Gaumukh to the special celebration in Harsil, each part shows how beautiful and different India is. In Harsil, the celebration is unique because they use pumpkin goats instead of real ones for sacrifice. It is special to see how they mix old traditions with kindness. This journey is not just about finding new places; it is about feeling a strong connection to India, like a beautiful song that makes us all feel connected and proud.” says Raunaq Sahini, on his ‘Melodies of India’ expedition.”

Throughout his journey, Raunaq will share his encounters, both pleasurable and challenging, with the world.
