On Thursday, the software giant Microsoft announced that it acquired VoloMetrix. It is a company specializing in analyzing the organizational performance with the help of anonymized data. This data is gathered from the corporate communication systems of a company.

Microsoft has been focusing on the domain of organization analytics and its Delve service of organizational analytics is getting ready for preview. It is scheduled for the general release by this year end.

VoloMetrix was launched in 2011, the company previously raised $17 million in funding rounds led by Shasta Ventures and Split Rock Partners. During the last October, VoloMetrix closed another $12 million series B round led by Split Rock Partners. Ryan Fuller, the then CEO of the company told that it is seeing enormous traction in customers for their product to increase the sales productivity. According to him, this is done by deepening the understanding of the sales activities as well as customer relationships and using the same for organizational simplification. The understanding of meetings, bureaucracy and cost of processes is very important.

While announcing the acquisition of VoloMetrix, Fuller stated that joining Microsoft will result in a huge benefit for their customer base as they can now provide better solutions partnering with a IT major. Microsoft stated that the acquisition will merge the VoloMetrix’s experience, track record of success and technology with its Office 365 product. Also, these will join with the already announced Delve Organizational Analytics.

As per a Microsoft spokesperson, the company is planning to integrate the solution of VoloMetrix into Delve Organizational Analytics service that was announced at Ignite. This is still under development, and it is expected to be launched as an early preview program next month. The availability of VoloMetrix integrated Office 365 service is to happen by the end of 2015. We can get to know more details on these soon as they are launched officially.
