OnePlus brings in Shahid and Mira Kapoor as Brand Ambassadors

Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput Kapoor, Bollywood‘s star power couple, have joined OnePlus as brand ambassadors for the company’s OnePlus TV product category.

The partnership reaffirms the brand‘s attitude of ‘Never Settle,’ while also emphasizing the company’s goal of creating a seamless connected experience.

With the highly renowned OnePlus TV Q1 Series, OnePlus entered the smart TV market in 2019. The OnePlus TV U Series and OnePlus TV Y Series were introduced the following year, with the goal of making the burdenless OnePlus experience more accessible to millions of customers across the country.

The OnePlus TV U1S, the latest addition to the company’s smart TV lineup, was introduced in June 2021.

The OnePlus TV 50 U1S, OnePlus TV 55 U1S, and OnePlus TV 65 U1S are smart TVs that feature a best-in-class 4K cinematic display, seamless IoT connectivity with OnePlus Connect 2.0.

In the second quarter of 2021, OnePlus’ smart TVs section saw a 20 percent year-over-year increase.

According to the latest India TV Tracker Q2 2021 report by Counterpoint Research, OnePlus is among the top five smart TV brands in the INR 20K-30K smart TV market and among the top three smart TV brands in the INR 40K-50K smart TV market in India, just two years after entering the category.

Mira and Shahid are both known for their fervor for life and devotion for a cause, which aligns with OnePlus’ Never Settle philosophy.

The ad film depicts Shahid Kapoor going on a dream-like journey where he imagines a life where he can manage anything with his voice, bringing the product feature to life. When his wife, Mira Kapoor, offers him a reality check, his fantasy is cut short.

BBH India conceptualized the campaign, which was developed in collaboration with Chrome Pictures. Hemant Bhandari directed the commercial, which was edited by Shahnawaz Mosani and featured music by Micu.
