The study finds that there is a surge in the shopping of smartphones on Black Friday. The smartphone surged 25% to $3.6 billion.

According to Adobe Analytics data, online retail rose by 22% on Black Friday as shoppers are buying holiday gifts, and they are looking forward to the best deal. Online retail has made a record $9 billion in sales on Black Friday. The estimation made by the research and analytics arm of the software company is that there will be a rise in online sales by 15%-25% to a record of $10.8 billion to $12.7 billion for cyber Monday.

Making up 40% of total online purchasing on Black Friday, shopping on smartphones jumped from 25% to $3.6 billion. There is an increase of 52% in a curbside pickup from a year earlier, this has increased due to the impact of the COVID 19 pandemic as the customers are switching to the new normal. Customers are not willing to go into the stores and spend but instead the customers become friends with an online platform, this resulted in a huge increase in spending over the internet. The statistics show U.S. consumers have spent $6.4 million a minute shopping online on the day of Black Friday, or by an average of $27.80 per person, according to Adobe.

On Black Friday smaller retailers have also gains leading into small business Saturday when the customers are urged to shop at boutiques and local stores. Online sales on Black Friday for those businesses were 550% higher compared to an average day in October, Adobe estimated. Adobe also analyses 1 trillion visits to U.S. retail sites among more than 50 merchandise categories.

For U.S. retailers Black Friday is the second best online shopping day since last years’ cyber Monday, though today’s buying activity is expected to smash records as consumers spend part of their workday looking for online deals and gifts, Adobe said. The firms’ analysis indicates that shopping for smartphones was particularly very strong this year on Black Friday, the reason behind it is that the mobile has become an essential item while we are dealing in online purchases. Mobile has become a more significant way for consumers to connect the network and handle different verities of tasks.
