‘Ummeedo Wali Dhoop’: Coco-Cola salute for Togetherness and the Human spirit

Coca-Cola in India is one of the country’s major beverage companies, providing a good variety of healthy, safe, good quality, refreshing beverage options to all consumers. Since its re-entry in 1993, the corporate has been reviving consumers with its vast list of beverage products. The Indian leg of Multinational beverage company Coco-Cola India has released a series of stories narrated through the digital media platform. “Ummeedo Wali Doop”, an initiative from the part of Coco-Cola India, recognizing signs of hope, the innumerable act of selflessness, kindness, and courage.

The campaign named #ToTheHumanRace offers a composition to humanity and also the human spirit in these hard pandemic times. Within the primary stage of the campaign, the company had released a movie saluting the liberality and courage of the daily heroes ‘Ummeedo Wali Dhoop’. The anthem has been written by Prasoon Joshi, CEO of McCann World group India. The stories are an addition of the campaign, which actually features ‘heroes’ from across the entire country and various stages of life.

Some of the Heroes are:

  1. Bilal Khan, a 29-year old lawyer from Delhi, make sure that slum dwellers do not go hungry through his ‘Four for All’ initiative in the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.
  2. Chhayarani Sahu, a 57-year-old farmer in Bhadrak district of Odisha has been continuously distributing vegetables from her farm to nearby villages and sharing her vegetable wealth with many others, during the countrywide hard lockdown time.
  3. S. Veena, a transgender in Bengaluru. Until now, she has given out about 10,000 kilograms of rations during this lockdown.

Shrenik Dasani, VP, sparkling category, Coco-Cola India and southwest Asia said that this is often the only real-time when the human spirit has been tested like never before, we the Coco-Cola group, try to share an inspiring, positive message with people. The campaign may be a little expression of our appreciation to any or all those individuals, who have acted as a case in point of that resilience.

The Coca-Cola system in India has argued, its own small thanks to building sustainable communities through the same community lead activities like Support My School, VEER, Parivartan, and Unnati. It also helps in reducing its own environmental footprint.
