Vodafone Idea Limited (VI) is an Indian telecom operator that formed as a result of the merging of Vodafone India with Idea cellular on 13th august 2013. Now Vodafone Idea has entered into a pact with the Firework story publishing network, which will offer Telco customers access to entertainment in the form of short video stories. This cooperation arrives at a time when telcos are seeking to involve their clients and discourage them from porting out numerous networks.

The collaboration would be a first for an Indian telco, helping VI to exploit the content repository of Firework from global content studios and also get access to exclusive professional content developers who are experienced storytellers across a broad spectrum of subjects. This is due to increased video consumption in India, where data consumption has soared, fuelled by cheap tariff plans, and video postings have become a big success for social media sites such as Facebook. Moreover, mobile devices have been the preferred entertainment platforms and the total time spent viewing short videos is dramatically higher than long-form content, suggesting that the degree of attention offered by short videos remains unmatched. VI customers can get a broad choice of trending stories across genres and languages through the relationship with Firework.  VI still wants to avoid the dramatic decline in the user base and expects that such content will help retain its subscribers.

VI is delighted to be the first telco to collaborate with Firework, exclusively curated for VI clients, to fuel the most trending short videos. The format is designed to entertain you through multiple groups and preferences in ’30 seconds.’ Without the need to download another program, users of VI can now enjoy their favorite content. The most powerful medium of mobile storytelling today is vertical short-form content, and Firework is further strengthening its scope through telecom operators, smartphone manufacturers, and app developers with this collaboration.
