In the relaunched series, we strive to learn how female leaders have been overseeing their teams and jobs as well as how they have been coping with the most trying and difficult circumstances resulting from the global epidemic.

Geethika Sudip, chief executive officer of Resorcio, a multilingual content aggregator startup that recently attracted Kris Gopalakrishnan, co-founder of Infosys, as an anchor investor, speaks with Adgully about gender sensitivity and inclusivity in the workplace, crisis management, the role and scope of women leaders in the new normal, and other topics.

Numerous studies have demonstrated that during the COVID-19 crisis, women leaders were more effective. What, in your opinion, makes women the best at handling crises?

That data point is fascinating. Due to the fact that most systems are not gender-friendly, women are better than men at navigating uncertainty. So it’s become second nature to us to be in a difficult situation and come up with a workable answer. During COVID, this underlying strength blossomed. In addition, women are typically better listeners. In times of crisis, all perspectives and options need to be carefully and patiently examined. The ability to listen well comes naturally to one. Women leaders, in my opinion, encourage trust. People believe that women make more moral and compassionate leaders. I hope we don’t become stereotypical in that way.

What are the five most important leadership lessons you have learned as a woman?

• Use disagreement to your advantage.

• Support diversity.

> Never stop learning.

• Prayer is a powerful instrument; practice it.

How can organisations effectively nurture and develop women leaders in difficult times? Gender sensitivity and inclusion in the new normal.

Sometimes the best candidate needs to be hired. As an illustration, the ideal applicant for the position of finance director just so happened to be a woman. Although there are still few women leading financial teams, we had no intention of letting prejudice influence our choice. Of course, we employed her. Sometimes it involves making a conscious effort to foster an environment that supports women and enables them to balance work and family. In this instance, hybrid working has been beneficial. They need to be mentored occasionally in order to reach their full potential. Over time, inclusion entails a great deal of big and minor decisions. I personally love seeing so many women play in Resorcio. I love how many women are performing significant roles in Resorcio on various levels. It was an organic process rather than a conscious choice, which adds to its excitement.
