We witnessed that Airtel ads as-a billion-dollar business in the making. Nair, CEO, airtel digital said that airtel has seen revenue growth of 200% in its first year of operation in India. Airtel ads operate in the rapidly growing digital ad market. Airtel is using deep data science capabilities to make sure that high relevance when ads are served while being a strong advocate of user data privacy.

Expert questioned what target the company set for its advertising business and how crucial is the airtel ads business for Bharti airtel.  Nair answered that, for Bharti airtel, airtel ads are an upcoming business for it. It is a significant opportunity because digital advertising needs a solution that can answer the consumer’s concerns regarding the privacy of their data and yet offer a rational, optimized campaign for brands.

Nair says they do not have any target yet, but they see this as a huge opportunity for business. airtel has many growing businesses that are built on airtel’s core infrastructure and mobility service. Airtel ads, says their ad-tech platform, is the key digital business built within airtel. Airtel ads leverage all digital assets to provide target ads to their customers which today have a digital MAU of 184+ million.

Airtel aims to continue to achieve growth, as digital becomes a key area of today’s advertising which spend for future brand agencies in the future. And, Airtel ads have achieved revenue growth of 200%. According to Dentsu’s digital advertising report, in India digital media made the second-largest contribution of 30% which is around Rs 21,353 crore to the Indian advertising industry and it stood at Rs 70,715 by 2021.

Airtel ads launched in February 2021 and have received a very good response from the collaborative brand. Collaborative brands see a lot of value in airtel ads’ closed ecosystem of channels which gives brands fraud-free campaigns and delivers more optimized returns on digital ad spending. Many customers use airtel products daily are Xstream for watching movies and Wynk for music also use the airtel thanks app to pay their bills. Airtel is a first-party user platform that strongly advocates user data privacy.
