The year 2020 filled with misfortunes both in the health of humans and for markets/businesses around the world has forced all companies and organizations to shift to more sophisticated technology-based operations rather than the traditional work settings. Every industrial sector in the surface of the earth from the health sector, education, banking, IT to FMCG industry now are using tech-based tools and solutions to operate remotely which has shown many effective results. As the traditional methods have been proven to be of no use due to the lockdown and the social distancing.

Online meeting applications like Zoom, Google Meet, Cisco WebEx, etc. got a huge boost-up in downloads in the early quarter of 2020 itself. HR leader companies such as axis bank, whirlpool, CTS, titan, Deloitte, etc. say that virtual workplace settings are to stay for long, thus are looking into more efficient long-term solutions.

Amalgamating technology with HR a fantastic solution is what the experts are saying now. Companies have already started switching to virtual workplaces as doing this cuts facility cost and by this investment for intelligent HR, technologies could be done.

TCS has already announced that till 2025, 75% of the employees would be work from the home workforce as per the 25/25 business model. As an expert from TCS said that only 25% of the workforce in the workplace would be more than enough for full productivity.

HR functions:

All basic HR functions such as CV screening, onboarding, recording employee database are now being handed over to bots. Their intelligent bots can do all the HR functions without the intervention of human help. They make condition-based decisions which would be effective and flawless. The capability is extremely useful now as humans are always available in this current pandemic.

Training:

Training the employees who are working from home is only possible through virtual training programs. HR employees around the globe are suggesting WFH employees sharpen their mind through courses on platforms liken Coursera, NPTEL, Edx.

Employee welfare:

TCS, Reliance, Aditya Birla and many such companies have started stand-up comedy sessions, motivational speeches, and lifestyle coaches etc. through zoom app. AI-based emotion monitoring sensors are used to understand various emotions like anger, happiness, frustration, tiredness etc. during the work from home lifestyle. And many free of cost meditational apps such as Headspace.

Finally making HR techs are coming out for use…but how should we adopt it successfully;

Organization:

Investment required is huge when installing these technologies so every HR leader should ask themselves if their company is ready to buy it or not. And choose the best technology that would be best for the company.

Employees:

The ultimate user of these adopted technologies would be the employees. Thus, training them and preparing them to get used to these technologies for many efficient and effective results. As to win the market place the workplace must be won first…!!!

Sure the road ahead looks hard but using HR technology would be the only best solution available right now in this current scenario.
