Bharti Airtel & AWS partners for digital transformation in India

Bharti Airtel, one of India’s largest integrated telecom announced the Strategic Collaboration Agreement (SCA) with Amazon Web Service (AWS) to cater Cloud services to large and small and medium enterprise (SME) customers across the country.

Airtel Cloud develops its cloud products as well as builds an Amazon Web Service (AWS) Cloud Practice supported by AWS professional services. Customers of Airtel will be benefited from both the companies from integrated sales, consulting, and support as well as intensified security scalability and cloud management capabilities.

Airtel Cloud caters its customer with a wide range of AWS services that include Windows on AWS, SAP ON AWS, VMware Cloud on AWS, database migration, and security and risk governance solutions. Airtel Cloud supports AWS’s innovation and transformation services, data warehousing, Internet of Things (IoT) and machine learning (ML) to support in adopting new services.

In India, businesses are adopting cloud for digital transformation. It is said that public cloud services in India are likely to increase up to US$7.1 billion in 2024 from US$3.4 billion in 2020, according to IDC Semiannual Public Cloud Services Tracker. Airtel Cloud already caters data centers, cloud services, to the companies, start-ups, small and medium enterprises, and to Governments as well.

Airtel holds Amazon Web Service (AWS) for the development of digital applications. The company is also an AWS Direct Connect Delivery Partner. AWS Direct Connect is a cloud service that helps users to get connected through a dedicated network connection from the users’ side to AWS, provides increased bandwidth throughput, constant network performance, and private connectivity.

Head of cloud and security at Bharti Airtel said that companies are looking for liveliness, quick movement from systems, and to work with people who have prior experience and deep knowledge. She also added that Airtel partnering with AWS, the world’s leading cloud platform would bring expertise in network handling, data centers, security, and cloud as a collaborated solution.

According to Asia Cloud Computing Association (ACCA) report, India has been shifted to the 10th position among 14 nations and has notable improvements in all kinds of parameters, even though with the weakness in infrastructure.
