The world is witnessing a high scale of the third wave of the covid, the Omicron variant, and the latest reports by the World Health Organization stated that claiming Omicron to be mild was a mistake.

The entire globe is getting affected by the severe spread of the Omicron and many people are facing death for the same and should not be taken as mild says the chief from the World Health Organization.

The chief said even though the cases were stable firsthand, now the spread is vitally getting increased across the globe filling up the hospitals with infected patients. He also stated that if the condition persists the hospitals will run out of hospital beds and oxygen cylinders.

He also added that the states who completed more than half of the vaccination might not experience the same because the vaccine has the immune power to resist this series of variants but it does not mean that omicron is mild.

The best way to prevent the spread is to get vaccinated says WHO. Vaccination is the only way to save us from getting affected by the spread because the world witnesses a lockdown again.

The reports also claim that people are not taking Omicron seriously in hand and that is the cause where the cases are increasing.

Omicron has the same effects as the variants that passed by the nation and it seems mild because half of the population is vaccinated and even if they get affected it’s seen as a mild symptom.

The people who are not vaccinated are prone to get affected by Omicron and in some cases, the situation turns out to be worse and those are the rare cases we see now as severe hospitalization.

This variant is mainly focusing on children who are yet to get vaccinated and the pregnant woman who can’t take vaccines because they are carrying and elderly people who have less immunity and health issues such as cancer, respiratory problems, etc.

The state and the government have started the vaccination for the children between 15-18 age group through school drives and vaccination centers set up by the government in the nearby hospitals.

Almost 6 lakhs registrations got filled up on the first day itself in the Cowin App. in many other states like Bangalore, Delhi the schools are closed due to the omicron spike and the government has initiated only to open after at least the first dose of vaccine is taken by the child.

Around 9.5 million covid cases were reported to the WHO last week and the chief states that it is not the hike of the Christmas and new year days.

It is now the Omicron gets into action and the world faces it. All we have to do is to get vaccinated and stop the chain of the spread.

WHO asks the states and the government to implement the vaccination procedure and strict covid protocols.
