Mumbai, 27th January 2026: Many women are made to believe that sacrifice is the ultimate solution to every problem — spending their lives nourishing everyone else and healing others’ wounds, while quietly letting their own identity bleed out. Bringing a powerful new voice to the reclaiming of individuality, COLORS prescribes a life-saving dose of courage, second chances, and self-worth with its new show, ‘Dr. Aarambhi’. This compelling setback-to-comeback drama peels back the layers of love, marriage, and ambition to reveal what it truly takes to restart one’s life and begin healing from within. Once a celebrated gold medallist and AIPMT topper, Dr. Aarambhi Balbir Chaudhary had a future brimming with promise. Groomed into the ‘ideal’ daughter-in-law, mother, and trophy wife, she is manipulated into believing that a woman’s greatest virtue lies in dutifully erasing herself for others. Her career ends even before it begins, while her husband, Dr. Vishwas, becomes the shining face of the family’s legendary medical empire. When life delivers a shattering setback, Aarambhi is forced to confront the cost of a life built on self-neglect in service of others. But instead of breaking, she fights back — choosing to become the hero of her own story.
What follows is the unstoppable rise of a woman who transforms pain into power. Her calling as a doctor becomes her refuge, her resistance, and her road to recovery, guided by one powerful motto: “Bahut hua setback, ab hoga comeback.” Starring Aishwarya Khare as Dr. Aarambhi, Aditya Redij as Dr. Vishwas, and Anjuum Faakih as Dr. Avantika, ‘Dr. Aarambhi’ premieres tonight and airs Monday to Friday at 8:00 PM, only on COLORS and JioHotstar.
Speaking about portraying Aarambhi, Aishwarya Khare shares, “Aarambhi is every woman who has ever been told to adjust, to stay quiet, to wait her turn. She is brilliant, capable, and full of dreams, yet life keeps pushing her into corners where she slowly forgets her own worth. That is the reality of so many women around us — people lose hope in them, and eventually, they begin to lose hope in themselves too. What makes Aarambhi’s journey deeply moving is that for the longest time, she believes she is not alone. She thinks she has a partner by her side, a marriage built on trust and support. But what happens when you realize that the life you built was based on lies, that the marriage you held onto was hollow, and that the person you trusted the most has been betraying you in ways you never imagined? Aarambhi’s comeback does not begin with anger or revenge; it begins with a realization and a quiet spark of courage. Even after a series of betrayals, she chooses to stand up, not just for herself, but for her son. She refuses to let him be taken away, and more importantly, she chooses to raise him with values, empathy, and integrity, breaking the cycle she herself was trapped in. I truly hope she becomes a voice of hope and strength for every woman who needs to be reminded that setbacks don’t define you — but your comeback can.”
Talking about his role as Vishwas, Aditya Redij says, “Vishwas is charming, highly successful, and deeply flawed. On paper, he is the ideal husband, educated, respected, progressive, and the pride of a legendary medical empire. But for him, marriage is not a partnership; it is possession. With Aarambhi, he is manipulative, controlling, and emotionally calculated. What makes him especially dangerous is how he gaslights her without ever raising his voice. He erodes her confidence so deeply that she begins to doubt herself, questioning her own instincts, intelligence, and capabilities at every step. For me, the preparation was about understanding power, not emotion. I kept Vishwas calm and composed at all times because he never believes he is wrong, and that quietness is what hides his cruelty. Audiences will hate his choices, but they will also recognise how society often enables men like him. That is what makes Vishwas unsettling and painfully real.”
Sharing her thoughts on portraying Dr. Avantika, Anjuum Faakih adds, “Avantika is not someone you can easily box as a villain. She is confident and self-made, but beneath that strength lies a woman who yearns for honesty, security, and to be chosen without hesitation. She has worked hard to become a successful doctor, carving a space for herself in a world that did not offer her anything easily. Avantika’s biggest flaw is also her deepest desire. She wants a love that is real, visible, and unapologetic. The dynamic between Avantika, Aarambhi, and Vishwas is layered and painful. Playing Avantika has been intense for me because she reflects a truth many shy away from. Strength does not make you immune to loneliness, and even the most empowered women can fall apart when love becomes uncertain. Avantika reminds us that wanting to be chosen does not make a woman weak. It makes her human.”
Get ready to witness a stirring tale of second chances, comeback, redemption and chasing a new beginning in ‘Dr. Aarambhi’. The show premieres tonight and thereafter airs every Monday to Friday, at 8:00 pm on COLORS and JioHotstar.
