Maharashtra set up the guidelines again amid the Covid Surge

As the nation is witnessing the spike of the third wave of Covid the governments and the states started to imply the guidelines they earlier did for the second and first waves of covid.

With regard to that the Maharashtra state and the government decided to implement a night curfew, closing of the schools and colleges,  and other restrictions also.

The state announced the closing of schools and colleges for two weeks time and not crowding of people more than five in a group except for essential services and certain other restrictions implied on the saloon and shopping complexes. 

The order will be enforced into action from 20th January 2022 and will remain in the state unless the government withdraws it. The guidelines are set up because the state is witnessing a high count in the covid cases.

According to the latest reports, Maharashtra on Saturday has 41,434 new Covid cases and 13 deaths and 133 omicron cases in the last 24 hours. The states Omicron rose up to 1,009. Out of the new cases that have been reported in Maharashtra, 20,318 cases are from Mumbai.

The list of guidelines that are enforced from Monday, 10th January 2022 includes no crowding of people more than five in a group from 5 am to 11 Pm. the night curfew starts from 11 pm to 5 am prohibiting any means of travelling or people outside their houses.

In shopping complexes and marketplaces, only 50% of people are allowed. During marriages, social, religious, and political gatherings only 50% of people are allowed. Only 20 people are allowed for funeral rites.

The schools and colleges will be closed till February 15th, 2022 except for the 10th and 12th STD if any activity is required. Nursing and medical colleges have the same guidelines implied.

Swimming pools, gyms, SPA’s, beauty salons, and wellness centres will remain closed. Haircutting is only allowed in saloons with 50% of people allowed. 

Museums, zoos, and parks will remain closed unless a further order is passed in removing the guidelines. Public transport will remain open but only for fully vaccinated people. 

Restaurants and eateries will function with 50% people. The government initiated the people to stick around more takeaways and the number of visitors must be marked in a book and they can function till 10 Pm. 

People can only enter the domestic airport with a fully vaccinated certificate and having a negative RT-PCR test report not older than 72 hours. The international airport will function according to the Center’s guidelines.

All the sports, State and International events are rescheduled and exams, where hall tickets are issues, will be conducted with government protocols. All further exams will be resumed after the cases are lower in the state. 

The health minister of the state said the hospital bed and oxygen cylinders occupancy is very low in the state and the death rate is also low.
