Mercedes-Benz will bring the GLA series in India, at the automaker’s production workshop in Chakan, Pune. The GLA-35 will be the third category of AMG model to have emerged in India after the GLC 43 AMG and the A 35 AMG. It will be the 13th CKD product from Mercedes-Benz India as well.
The GLA 200 consumes a 1.4-lite petrol motor that produces 163 hp and 250Nm of torque. It emerges with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Mercedes-Benz also mentioned that the GLA 200 can speed up from 0-100 km/h in 8.7 seconds with the highest speed of 210 km/h.
Now, talking about the second variant of this model GLA 220d. It consumes a 2.0-liter turbo diesel that produces 190 hp and 400Nm of torque. The 220d 4MATIC provides unique features but has an all-wheel drive. We have both the choice available with 8-speed automatic transmission. The diesel variant of this model can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 7.4 seconds with the highest speed of 222 km/h. The 4MATIC variant is quicker by a tenth to 100 km/h but has a lower top speed of 219 km/h.
We move forward to the third category of this model GLA 35, which produces 306 hp and 400Nm of torque and the same 2.0-liter turbo petrol motor as the A 35 AMG. This is also as same from all variant of 8-speed automatic transmission and the all-wheel-drive, can accelerate in the range of 0-100 km/h in 5 seconds and the highest speed is set at 250 km/h.
The most important aspect is from the perspective of consumers’ preference that matters price. Mercedes commenced the prices for the GLA class will begin at Rs 43.7 Lakh whereas the 4MATIC variant will be available at Rs 46.7 lakh. The AMG GLA 35 4MATIC will be priced at Rs 57.3 lakh. Although, the manufacturer has mentioned that these offer till June 30, 2021. The prices will increase from July 1, 2021. The prices will rise to Rs 1.5 lakh.
