New Sales Strategy Head of Reliance as Akila Jayaraman

Reliance Jio has currently appointed Akila Jayaraman as sales strategy head. She will work along with building the descriptive on Jio platforms to make it a leading digital media advertising platform.

Akila joins the leading cellular network company from the advertising agency, Cheil India, where she worked as vice president for more than a year.

In Cheil she led a team of more than 40, digital-first professionals towards increasing the digital media, data, and technology potential for Samsung in India beyond product categories – mobiles, wearable, and consumer electronics.

Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited,  with business as Jio, is an Indian telecommunications company and a secondary of Jio Platforms, headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It operates a national LTE network with coverage across all 22 telecom circles. It does not offer 2G or 3G service, and rather uses only voice over LTE to provide voice service on its 4G network. Jio soft-launched on 27 December 2015 

In the past, Akila has also worked with Comviva Technologies as Head – Sales and Business Development for Bharti Airtel, Ericsson India, and Feedback Business Consulting.

In her previous roles, she has worked with a soul as associate vice president for more than three years and Madhouse for two years as director and performance marketing and was instrumental in building Madhouse’s mobile performance marketing practice and also marketing insights division.

 Spent around 17 years across 3 sectors, developed skilled spanning consulting, research, sales, and account management in the mobile and technology zone. Recently, the advertising and marketing domain led the combined media mandate for large brands like Samsung in India and Google previously.

A structured contributor to the industry through authorship, speaking at conferences and being on awards juries. Have been at the forefront of cutting-edge consumer research in mobility and have co-authored reports on various consumer fashions ranging from developing apps to the role of privacy in the consumer’s digital life. Co-authored for two consecutive years the annual mobile ecosystem report and ad sizing report for MMA and group M
