Nickelodeon, a pioneering children’s entertainment company owned by Viacom18, has always put the needs of its young viewers first.

The Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in a wide range of mental health issues that have impacted everyone, including children. Almost every child in the country is experiencing some level of stress and anxiety as a result of the pandemic’s aftermath.

Nickelodeon is preparing to launch the new edition of its global pro-social campaign ‘Together for Good,’ with the powerful message of #TakeABreak, in keeping with its vow to always be there for kids. The initiative’s main message is to advise students to let go of their tension, take a break, and do something that makes their hearts and mind joyful.

The campaign features Nickelodeon’s most popular characters, Chikoo and Bunty. The toons are bringing the initiative’s message to life through inspiring stories – the first of which features a fatigued Bunty who is unable to finish his homework and an animated brain that understands the need to take a break.

The narrative, on the other hand, features a hurried and perplexed Chikoo who is continuously checking for notifications and updates, as well as an animated heart relaxing and shedding worries and the strains of everyday life. The conclusion of both stories is positive and encouraging with the note of ‘Be Smart! Take a break!’

The initiative will also collaborate with the Early Childhood Association of India (ECA) and its primary education subsidiary, APER, a non-profit organization that provides a one-stop-shop for the enrichment, networking, awareness, and advocacy of childhood and everything that affects it, to create classrooms where children can learn in a stress-free environment using the best of local and global educational practices.

Apart from engaging children through its channels, Nickelodeon has also created the “Nickelodeon Stress-Free Zone,” a specifically curated space for children to Reflect, Relax, Recharge, and Reset. Partnerships, social media, and interaction with mommy bloggers and advocacy groups can help to spread the good message that kids should take a vacation.

Throughout the campaign, eminent and expert partners such as Lil Yogi’s, Synchrony India, and Artsphere will engage with children with tools on what they should do when they are stressed utilizing alternative ways such as art, yoga, and visual therapies. On March 20th, Nickelodeon will hold a Facebook Live event called “Nurturing Young Minds” with these professionals who will guide parents and gatekeepers on how to care for their children’s mental health.
