Penta Esports, a gaming and esports company, has announced the launch of its latest IP, the ‘Penta Collegiate League’ presented by Loco, for colleges and universities throughout India. This league’s tournaments will be exclusively streamed on Loco’s app and website (loco. gg). Other partners in this league include ‘Leverage Edu,’ a study abroad partner, and ‘GOQii,’ a healthcare partner.

The first season of the ‘Penta Collegiate League’ will include two esports titles, Valorant on PC and Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) on mobile, with a total of $30,000 in scholarships to be awarded.

Anurag Khurana, Founder and CEO of Penta Esports, stated about the idea behind this new esports league, “Our primary goal is to give opportunities to aspiring esports athletes at the grassroots level.” We want to provide aspiring esports athletes with a platform similar to traditional sports because esports is rapidly gaining popularity as a viable career path for many. The scholarship is intended to assist esports athletes in their endeavors.”

“Game streaming is no longer regarded as a casual hobby,” said Ashwin Suresh, Founder of Loco, of the collaboration. New audiences are drawn to watch this content as more gamers become creators and begin streaming, and new tournament organizers create more events. Increased viewership will eventually result in increased revenue for the entire ecosystem. As a pioneer in this industry, we are excited to see it grow and are actively assisting in its expansion. With our partnership with the ‘Penta Collegiate League,’ we hope to support and jumpstart the careers of aspiring streamers.”

The first season will include two qualifiers for both games. Registration for the first qualifiers is already underway and will continue until June 19th, 2022, with the first qualifier matches set to begin on June 21st. The dates for the second qualifiers will be announced soon.

Both qualifier playoffs and the first season finale will be broadcast live exclusively on Penta Esports’ Loco channel. Students can register for the tournament at pentaesports.com.

The league’s full details are available on Penta Esports’ platform, pentaesports.com. The platform is a one-stop-shop for everything Penta, including match schedules, match results, tournament, and league VODs, content, news, announcements, and much more.
