‘Rendezvous’ – Unveiling of Anupam Kher’s New Book


Rendezvous, a series of personal, immersive, and indulgent activities, was unveiled by The Chambers, India’s very first exclusive business party, tastefully designed for discerning guests at iconic IHCL hotels across the nation. Crafted to connect and entertain, these evenings concentrate on producing personalized events for a small few that are exclusive and niche. In discussion with Puneet Chhatwal who is the Managing Director & CEO of Indian Hotels Company Limited, Philanthropist, Neerja, Birla along with Kumar Mangalam Birla who is the Chairman of the Aditya Birla Group, the first of a series of events, the launch saw Global Actor-director-producer, Anupam Kher, unveil his latest book “Your Best Day Is Today”.

Kher said why he wrote the book during the pandemic was that he was scared. He wrote it out of a sense of doubt, and he figured finding a silver lining in a black cloud was the best way to fight against it. Kher said that he is an everlasting optimist. He needed to see and feel that something that happens will give way to something satisfying. He added that, for the first time in 39 years, he heard the sounds of birds in Mumbai during the lockdown and saw blue skies after a very long time. He clarified that the writing process allowed him to feel better about the situation. At this point, what people wanted was to be next to their close ones, get vital commodities and a WiFi link. The loop began with anxiety and finished with hope.

The discussion included a compendium of experiences, lessons, and positive takeaways that will help individuals deal with dark times, a conversation that is extremely relevant in today’s day and age. Chef Sanjeev Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra, Nisha JamVwal, Chocolatier Zeba Kohli, and a host of top-shot business personalities were also present. In the background of the newly renovated façade of The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai, the beautiful Chambers Lawn hosted an elegant evening. And spending an evening under Mumbai’s starry sky, guests dined on a selection of the finest Mediterranean and European delicacies.
