Huma Qureshi, one of the leading Bollywood Actress who will be soon seen in the movie Army of the Dead which is directed by Zack Snyder has recently partnered with Save the Children, it is done as a part of a 100-year legacy of responding to children who have been in crisis.

This year they have decided to help Delhi to fight the Covid-19 pandemic through their fundraising program aiming for a 100-bed hospital as it would help the national capital’s health infrastructure to reduce their burden.

Huma Qureshi is natively from New Delhi; she has been working on this project to Save the Children with the purpose of an all-encompassing solution that would provide much-needed support and hope in the middle of so many deaths and chaos caused as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. The 100-bed hospital will provide them with emergency medical facilities that will have skilled doctors, medical equipment that includes the oxygen plants and other life-supporting services that would provide treatment and life-saving care for the most disadvantaged children and communities.

Most of Huma’s friends from the film industry have come out with wholehearted heart to support this initiative in all possible way. Her friends include Sonakshi Sinha, Mudassar Asiz, Arjun Kapoor, Rohit Dhawan, Ramesh Taurani, Dia Mirza, and Saqib Saleem.

While speaking about this partnership Huma Qureshi said that “I was horrified by what was happening around me. It was an inconsolable situation of New Delhi as well as my home, tumbling down in the second wave of the pandemic with the rise in death rate, and exhausted health system. Watching this I felt like doing something to help. I was already in touch with Save the Children thus all fell in place and this is just a start. We are planning to take this to other cities of our country”.

Save the Children had already started their initiative to help the children in 2020, from the beginning of the pandemic. They have already helped more than 5.57 lakh children since last year. With the start of the second wave, they have an aim of #ProtectAMillion, to reach out to 14 states and 2 union territories.

Speaking about the partnership, Sudarshan Suchi, the CEO of Save the Children, India said that “the second wave of Covid- 19 pandemics has shaken the country as a whole. The healthcare system has been grappling with the rise in cases and the ascending death tolls. Huma had joined us with a pledge to “Breath of Life” with a great boost to save children and to reach out to those in the most vulnerable situations. We are grateful to join her in this mission and to gain our goal with our teamwork.
