More than 70% of the sellers assume that sales will improve this year. 

Neilson Media Survey is an American-based company that measures media audiences. It researches the preferences of the consumers. From August 30 to September 9, 2021, it performed a survey among 2000 Amazon sellers.    

35% of the participants need a foot in the seasonal hiring to meet the ascent in demand during the Great Indian Amazon Festival; 45% of them affirmed that they will invest in training their workforce.  

78% of the surveyed expect reaching resolute new customers.   

Only 28% of them plan to launch new products.  

31% try to make additional investments to meet their business target this year.  

36% of them said that they are visiting to invest in augmenting the catalog and warehousing.  

Above 40% of the customers expect 50% biz dev.  

Also, about 50% of them indicated that they are visiting Amazon for sale during the festive season for the first time.  

The dates for the Big Billion Days sale of Flipkart are released. It is going to take place from October 7- October 12. Amazon is yet to try to do so for its Great Indian Festival sale. However, the teaser for the festival is released.   

Amazon together with Flipkart is beforehand facing investigation by the Competition Commission of India. They are facing allegations like preferential treatment of some sellers. Amazon asserted its zero-tolerance for corruption. Both Amazon and Flipkart informed that their work is according to Indian law.   

“One of the foremost important metrics for festive season events is how we contribute to the success and growth of the lakhs of sellers on the marketplace. This festive season we will strongly prioritize efforts to enable sellers to induce better from the economic disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and accelerate their business growth. The findings from the study indicate that our efforts are aligned with the needs and expectations of the SMB sellers,” Sumit Shah, Director of Selling Partner Services, Amazon said.  

We can witness an e-commerce encounter in the Indian market as Flipkart and Amazon are on the podium. Both of them have released a lot of offers and discounts to allure their customers.
