Sony India has recently announced an online campaign #CreateWithSony to keep its customers and participants engaged during this lockdown. The campaign is mentored by Sony Artisans and influencers who conducted interactive live sessions on how one can explore their creative side and hone their photography skills even within the confinement of their homes. The campaign is hosted on the Sony Alpha India Instagram page.
Mukesh Srivastava, head digital imaging business, Sony India, said, “We wanted people to stay connected to their passion for photography even while they were at home and that’s how we came up with the idea of #CreateWithSony campaign. This campaign helped participants discover the joy of miniature photography as we received many entries appreciating everyday life and little things around us. Some other popular genres included macro, portrait, tabletop, and indoor photography.”
The campaign encourages people to use their creativity, imagination, and passion to explore the universe within the four walls of the home where a lot of amazing things go by uncaptured. They are providing a space to explore and the people can click, post, and share priceless moments with #CreativeWithSony. The best entries stand a chance to get featured on their Instagram channel and the Alpha Community website.
The result is a mix of user-generated content in the form of images and videos across multiple genres, submitted by enthusiastic participants from all over the country. Participants reproduced the concept in their own unique ways with nature and landscape photographers beautifully recreating outdoor shots and bringing them right into their living rooms. There is also a lot of content generation around food photography and vlogging on the back of this campaign.
Initiated in April 2020, shortly after the lockdown was announced, the campaign has to-date garnered total Impressions of 700k, cumulative Engagement of 189k, and 3k+ Entries on Sony Alpha India Instagram page.
Owing to the success of the #CreateWithSony campaign, we decided to make it a permanent property by creating a microsite on the Alpha community. Sony Alpha Artisans and influencers involved include The Wedding Filmer, Nimit Nigam, Chintu Pathak, Shreyans Dungarwal, Hrigandha Mistry, Kedar Bhat, and Shubh Mukherjee.
