Top PR and corporate communications professionals participated in the second edition of exchange4media 30 Under 30 Summit, where they discussed “hacks for gravity-defying communication careers.”

Thakur begins the session with a question – How do you constantly keep on moving to higher orbits in the face of personal, organizational, and cultural gravity. “To start, you should want to become the Chief Clarity Officer. Several of you may already be in charge of small teams, while others may oversee larger teams, and so on. The lack of a clear sense of direction regarding what is most essential for the team or the organization and why is one of the things that practically everyone in the team considers and requires to perform to their potential. And I’m not necessarily referring to your company’s next major announcement or launch. And what are the exact requirements that must be met in order to make the switch? How do you as a leader arrive at this clarity? It results from some self-reflection, and hustle is really significant. It has a great rating. However, hustling has the drawback of not taking enough steps back. So, when you’re working hard, please take a moment to reflect, gain clarity, and then communicate that clarity to your team”.

Thakur advised aspiring communicators to focus on what they were good at rather than following their hobbies. “Follow your passion is the second piece of advice. Additionally, it makes the false assumption that you have one or two constant passions in life. The biggest error is the presumption that you are skilled in your area of passion. For instance, the majority of young people nowadays are passionate about becoming YouTube or Instagram stars. For instance, the majority of young people nowadays are passionate about becoming YouTube or Instagram stars. Don’t go after your dreams. Discover your strengths and what motivates you to do things that receive positive feedback. Once you find these excellent zones, you will naturally gravitate toward them. He offered another piece of advice, saying that it’s crucial to identify unresolved issues.

“Finally, I need to discuss a notion that I have long upheld and that has recently been exquisitely illustrated in works like “The Power of Atomic Habits” and ‘Power of Habit. What does this principle actually state, then? It simply states that a proper routine, which is simple and easy to follow, may provide your life with a tremendous amount of power and success. It practically operates like compound interest that increases gradually. Therefore, minor changes can become habits and lead to systematic change over time. Thus, I believe it to be well put, and I’m paraphrasing. Forget about creating objectives and concentrate on your system instead if you want greater results. Success results from daily habits, not from once-in-a-lifetime transformations.
