After the LaLiga Santander season with weekly contests held over 20 matchdays,  LaLiga and Facebook have labeled Alaukik from Patna, Bihar as India’s #LaLigaUltimateXpert.

The contest was arranged by LaLiga and their 39 broadcast partners across 100 countries for the huge true Spanish football fans who showed their impressive knowledge of Spains’ top division.

The 20 contests are focused on a different LaLiga Santander Club, making sure that every team had their moment to shine. The competition had a different Spanish football star/ambassador, with present-day Real Betis midfielder Sergio Canales and FC Barcelona and Real Madrid legends Carles Puyol and Fernando Morientes. The LaLiga representatives asked the participants questions each week through videos about the team that was being highlighted on  that matchday.

Participants from the broadcast platform got a chance to win regular weekly prizes other than the grand prize of the ‘Ultimate Xpert’ from each region, which is a trip to Spain and an entire footballing experience. Winners were sent official shirts/jerseys of their most favorite teams and official PUMA footballs.

Jose Antonio Cachaza, Managing Director, LaLiga India said, “LaLiga’s top priority has always been providing exceptional football experience to the watchers both on and off the field. With the limitations in the past year, we wanted to make sure that the interruption of live footballing activity did not lessen the spirits of the fans and football lovers and developed these unique and innovative ways of engaging with them. #LaLigaUltimateXpert was one such effort that was loved by the fans and the participation we received was overwhelming. I heartily congratulate the winners and hope that viewers continue to take part in/enjoy the engaging activities which will give them the true essence of Spanish football.”

Broadcast partners of LaLiga also got an opportunity to win through this competition, as LaLiga gave them exclusive content and attractive prizes. This brought more recognition to their social media profiles, programming, and websites. More than 1.1 million people were engaging across these posts.

With the hope that the COVID-19 situation improves, the LaLiga initiative will be able to return to Spanish stadiums in 2021/2022 and the diehard football fans can re-live and enjoy football again.
