Covid-19 pandemic just a pause in consumption & progress story of India

The Chairman & Managing Director of Hindustan Unilever Limited, Mr Sanjiv Mehta pointed out that this Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown are just a pause in India’s consumption & growth story. And he said that the effects were just a stop in India’s consumption and growth story. That it has been a speed-breaker in India’s growth path, but will not replace the route. And he pointed out that an enlarging middle class, having one of the youngest populations in the world and increasing internet pierce authorising better entrance than ever before, diverts India as “poised for unparalleled growth”.

And he told shareholders at the company’s 88th annual general meeting on the last day, that Hindustan Unilever (HUL) will depend on three drivers to move its later growth agenda above the next decade — viable business policy, constructing a smart enterprise that will further implant data, technology and analytics, and leadership in the coming periods. 

Talking about the forthcoming decade for HUL, Mehta pointed out that the company decided to end the discussion on whether there was a trade-off in the middle of aim and production. Then they said that it realised that the existence of purpose-led lone will not be sufficient. And to be fortunate, they will also have to be future-fit by being completely digitised, more innovative, and speeder to acknowledge the many diversions shaping people’s lives every day. And it has a  plan to do this by expanding in high growth parts, leading in the channels of the forthcoming days, generating brands that resonate with objectives and making a future that fit the overall organisational culture.

Making an ‘Intelligent organization’ will need changing away from the traditional linear value chain to a non-linear ecosystem by making the typical abilities across the enterprise and it will entail building core business smarter and more effectively, according to him. While taking the challenges that present leaders of the corporate world are facing are the jobs of leaders, in a world marked by threat. They require the courageous, modest, accountable and experimentative. And the firms will have to be directed through unknowns, and leaders of tomorrow will require to be pleasant.
